My thoughts on children's literature and my writing life in progress
World of Words: October 2010
http://marcieaf.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
My thoughts on children's literature and my writing life in progress. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Some of you may be participating in NaNoWriMo. Well, I can't even get a novel written in a year (but I'm trying). But I was really excited when I heard about the PiBoIdMo. Picture Book Idea Month) hosted by Tara Lazar. To come up with an idea for a picture book every day for a month. Then you have 30 ideas to get you through until the next time PiBoIdMo rolls around. So, as I see it, the PiBoIdMo challenge.

My thoughts on children's literature and my writing life in progress. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The Kindness of Strangers- Fairies or Angels? I have been wanting to go to Fairy Stone State Park. The legend goes that the woods were enchanted with fairies. When an elfin told the fairies that Christ had died, they cried. Their tears crystallized and became the fairy stones. There is another Cherokee version of the story as well. I am going to look that one up. The woods and hunting for fairy stones? Perhaps...

My thoughts on children's literature and my writing life in progress. Friday, June 27, 2008. Poetry Friday: Twelve Rounds to Glory. Twelve Rounds to Glory: The Story of Muhammad Ali. By Charles R. Smith, Jr. Candlewick Press, 2007. This book is for upper middle grade readers and young adult readers. But the layout of the book is like a picture book. It’s obviously not a picture book because of the length and the content. It is intended for older readers. You have ascended the mountaintop. I read the firs...
World of Words: Packing an Emotional Punch
http://marcieaf.blogspot.com/2010/11/packing-emotional-punch.html
My thoughts on children's literature and my writing life in progress. Monday, November 22, 2010. Packing an Emotional Punch. I have been reading like a writer lately. In my current W.I.P., I am nearing the end. I know something horrible is coming. I know what it is. I have been dreading writing it. It will be very emotional for me. I know I need to write this part of the book, yet it's difficult. One of the questions I've been thinking about is how much tragedy can a teen reader take? It was a valid point.

Tuesday, April 30, 2013. So for Spring Break I got to cross something off of my bucket list and go to Mexico! Austin's family invited me on their family vacation to Rocky Point with his parents, siblings, grandparents and then his uncles family as well. The beach house was very nice and perfect for the amount of people we had there too. The day we got there was Friday. We unpacked all of the cars, settled in our rooms and then had dinner and from what I remember watched a movie and then went to bed.

Tuesday, August 28, 2012. What a silly girl! She absolutely LOVES blowing bubbles! She asks for bubbles every day! Links to this post. My baby is 2 years old! She is the joy of our lives! We took her up to Dry Fork and took a few pictures to put on her birthday party invitation. They are not professional in the least bit, but I still thought they turned out really cute. She is such a little poser. I wanted to write a few of her words down that she says right now so I won't forget. Links to this post.
