China 2015: Wuhan Week 4. Posted 1 year ago. My faculty host and friend Professor Yi Yang had me to her house for dinner with her family. Nothing like home cooking! Her daughter has grown so since the 4 years I was last here. Her father in law is one of the most respected watercolor painters in Hubei province and travels often by invitation. His work is beautiful and I hope I am in Wuhan when he has a major exhibition at the Hubei Provincial Art Museum next year. Helping the waitress cook country style.

China 2015: Beijing Week 2. Posted 1 year ago. Beijing offered a variety of experiences including weather related this second week of my time in China. A sandstorm turned lovely spring weather into a murky and dusty experience. Luckily, the weather cleared nicely by the next day. They are bright and motivated and very responsive to this new technique. One of the majors has been working hard on an alligator sculpture inspired by my UF presentation! Monday, February 18, 2013. P is for pots and photos! I've spent most of this past week shuttling pots back and forth between studios and prepping for a firing that I want to do next week, weather permitting. I might get delayed a bit on that since a storm is rolling in Monday afternoon. We might have to push the firing back a bit, oh well. More time to catch up on my throwing. Last summer I took a photography class at CSU Summer Arts. Links to this post. Friday, February 08, 2013. A Speck of Sun. You rea...

China 2015: Wuhan Week 3. Posted 1 year ago. The first of two weeks in Wuhan was an eventful one. Today Professors Yang and Cao and my interpreter, Yawei, took me to the fantastic Art Museum and Hubei Provincial Museum. I saw some interesting contemporary work as well as some great pots and bronzes from this region. It is rich in history and culture. Dinner outdoors in a scenic restaurant next to the famous East Lake topped off the week in a wonderful way. The poster for my lecture. Laquo; Previous Post.
