Björn's adventures, love, struggle, dreams, passions and politics. This year I finally made it to Istanbul pride, and I am glad I did! The event was a great success: a happy celebration of the local community. Probably more than a celebration the pride was of great political value for the local community. Meer dan 90 nationaliteiten kwamen bijeen in Wenen. Samen spraken we over de situaties in verschillende landen en hoe er beter kan worden samengewerkt. Hij is één van de weinige die wel ‘uit’ is. An amazing team - because they seemed still relax and happy after they discussed all the things coming up in the coming years! I'm happy that the meeting took place - becuase now they can start with the real work, and I can take more distance from the work. I'm parting from something that shaped me so much - I'm happy, sad and proud at the same time. And most important: a dream team was elected. It was a conviction that I should do this work, that I should take on the challenge of supporting an organization which does not know much of it equals. The conviction however did not come from inside. It came from you. It came from stories of exclusion, stories of injustice, spoken by brave, courageous people – people whom when they got together develop magic amounts of energy. But foremost, let’s not forget why we do this work....
