In November 2010 I visited the overcrowded Comayagua prison in Honduras to interview 38 year old inmate, Gustavo Adolfo Urquia. This footage is dedicated to the 359 men who lost their lives in the fire that swept through the prison on February 14th 2012. According to an internal government report sent to the UN, most of the prisoners had yet to be charged with a crime, let alone be convicted of one. The film was broadcast via the Honduran national newspaper La Prensa in the days after the fire.

This campaign film produced by Amnesty International follows on from The Invisibles. A series of films about human rights abuses of migrants travelling through Mexico on their way to the USA. We asked members of the public in Mexico City ‘if you had to leave your country and could only take one thing, what would it be? Their responses starkly contrast with those given by migrants whose request for socks led to the launch of the campaign website – sendsocks.org.
