Having completed my studies of Chinese and Russian, I was ready to move on to the third language of my journey. Arabic. Although my initial intentions were to study in Saudi Arabia, Syria, or Yemen, in the end I decided to return to Egypt, where I had studied abroad three years earlier. Map of my planned route.

Last Friday was the final exam for the summer semester at my Chinese language program. Last Saturday was the final match for Beijing Ultimate Frisbee. Summer League. These two events marked the end to my first two months in Beijing. This summer has truly been amazing, though it has not come without challenges. Here’s my two roses and two thorns summary.
