July 14, 2015. July 12, 2015. This is an Asiatic Lion, of which (so the information presented by Bristol Zoo states) there are only about 300 left in the world. That is profoundly depressing, human beings suck. Neither of these photos are as sharp as would like, but given they were both taken through thick and dirty glass they are about as good as I could get. So apologies for the somewhat blurry images, but who doesn’t love a lion sunning himself on a boiling hot day in July. In Bristol Zoo. On Frânturi...

The home of my ancestors, the current home of my wife’s family and just a lovely place to be. Here in one convenient place are many of my favorite photographs. Even more beach…at a jaunty angle. July 13, 2015. July 12, 2015. Friday saw myself and my camera visiting Bristol Zoo. I try to go there once a year or so, it is about the only place (well, zoo’s in general I suppose) that I get to use all my little collection of lenses. So firstly, the butterfly house. stiflingly hot and humid, but I love it. Several dozen large and colorful butterflies and moths flitting and fluttering. And occasionally stopping still for long enough to for my macro and me to take some snaps. And tagged 100mm macro lens.
