Thanet coast life: March 2015
http://thanetcoastlife.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 March 2015. Ramsgate's Cinque Ports trophies? Since January I have been auditing the Ramsgate town Council collection of art and artefacts. Out of curiosity I have been taking a look at the Ramsgate town silver. Among the town silver collection I have come across three trophies with military connections. The town council has no provenance on them and I am looking at the possibility they may have Cinque port connections. Tuesday, 10 March 2015. An up date on the Ramsgate Town Council collection.

Monday, 26 January 2015. The Ramsgate Town Council collection. Following a report to the amenities committee of Ramsgate Town in November 2014 , I have now been tasked to take an in depth look at all the items of art and artefacts Ramsgate Town Council have in their collection. This follows my original report was about the status of the remaining Ramsgate art and artifacts in local government collections. My task with the RTC collection is to audit the entire collection in order of relevance based on the...

Tuesday, 25 March 2014. Ramsgate - new additions to the collection. I suppose to appreciate these two items you will have to be in the hard core category of the Ramsgate History appreciation society. Both are ring boxes from Ramsgate High Street jewelers long gone. I checked them with Terry Wheeler of the Ramsgate Historical Society who just happens to be the man in the know when it comes to do with anything relating to Ramsgate High Street. He gave me the following information,. Photograph above : -.

Saturday, 30 August 2014. The Droit House Dream Land exhibition at the Droit House Margate Harbour. Monday, 4 August 2014. The Manston airport debate and a false accusation. When Manston closed it was because of commercial failure and had nothing to do with opposition to night flights and I will continue to support the no night flight campaign. So it is a case of Manston Yes, Night flights No but being a realist the future of the airport does look bleak unless huge investment can be found. Following the ...

Thanet coast life: May 2014

Wednesday, 28 May 2014. Albion House Ramsgate - a piece of missing history and the contents. This document is a new addition to my archive of Ramsgate art and artefacts and it is a Thanet District Council report on the fate of the Ramsgate artwork when it was kept a Albion House. Looks like at the time there must have been a terrible damp problem at Albion House. The document does make sorry reading as it explains why almost everything TDC own regarding Ramsgate historically is in such poor condition.

Thanet coast life: Displaying the Ramsgate Town Council collection and a ramble.
http://thanetcoastlife.blogspot.com/2015/02/meeting.html
Tuesday, 3 February 2015. Displaying the Ramsgate Town Council collection and a ramble. The original Ramsgate civic collection of historic art in local Government control was instigated by Dame Janet Stancombe Wills in 1912, the origins being fine art. I am looking at starting in the future a Ramsgate historic art and artifact group, an online research group that will publish all findings online for search engines. Recently on facebook I have put on a few items from the RTC collection on the Friends ...
