I was born in Bohemia in 1943 and immigrated to Australia in 1982. My love for knitting began very early in life, before I could read and write. In Australia I saw all these woolly creatures and I wanted to learn how to spin my own yarns - an obsession was born. I started collecting all sorts of spinnable fibres such as alpaca, mohair, wool and silk. Dyeing the fibres followed. As handmade socks became quite fashionable, I bought plain sockyarn and dyed it in all the colours of the rainbow.

Apart from making socks I also like to create a wide range of bags, beanies, scarves - in fact just about anything that I get an urge to try out. My latest success has been a range of fantastically crazy beanies - using a variety of fibres to fashion some truly unique hats. Last month I tried making knitted lampshades, the month before I was busy trying to make scarves. As Winter gets nearer I will be making more fingerless mittens. Depending on the latest projects I often have hanks of wool or sock yarn for sale. I can also arrange sale of other fibres - it all depends what I have left over. Feel free to email me using the contact form to see if I can help your latest creations. Hanks of 100% merino in 8 ply, hand dyed. The sheep that gave their fleece for this wool have grazed in Western Australia. Each hank contains 100 grams. The wool is itch and allergy free. Please wash by hand only. Hanks of Sock yarn, hand dyed.

These are the products I am most renowned for. No two pairs are ever the same - even if knitted from the same batch of dyed wool! All the wool is hand-dyed and unless I am carrying out a specific order, the colours are the ones I feel like making. Sometimes I am very pleased with the results - and sometimes I am surprised, but the socks are always brilliant. First washing should be by hand, as some bleeding may still occur. After that machine wash on gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry.
