Tina Parkhurst: March 2011
http://tinaparkhurst.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The ramblings of an amusing cat lover and liberal. Saturday, March 05, 2011. They will try to convince your new spouse that they need to go back to that old relationship, to "come home." My thought is this - if my old relationship was so great and I still wanted it, I'd still be there. They'll try to convince your spouse that they aren't happy with you now. Who are they to judge the happiness of someone else? Particularly when it is from a purely self-centered perspective. Because you and your spouse wil...

Tina Parkhurst: October 2010

The ramblings of an amusing cat lover and liberal. Friday, October 08, 2010. Cats, Crisco, and Shoehorns. Some people think that I have three cats at the moment. In actuality, I have two animals that might qualify as cats, one dog who thinks that she's a really big cat mistakenly put into a dog suit, and one very large cat that adores the dog. That would be Spatz. The phenomenon begins as soon as I try to start acting like I'm not getting ready to leave the house to go to the vet. At that moment, eve...

The ramblings of an amusing cat lover and liberal. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Garbage in, garbage out. In the days when I started getting into the technology industry, there was a saying "Garbage in, garbage out." It meant that if you programmed garbage into a computer program, your results were going to be equally as lousy. I still see "garbage" going in, even in this day and age, usually under the guise of religion. So parents, be careful what you program into your children. What programming you rece...

The ramblings of an amusing cat lover and liberal. Wednesday, December 08, 2010. As you read this tail/tale, keep in mind that the whole thing happened over a 5-10 minute time period and is best accompanied by the theme from the Looney Tunes cartoons or better yet, Ride of the Valkyries. At this point, I decided that we needed all the troops and went to get our room-mate Rob. After a brief explanation of the situation, it was now a group effort. Can you bring me the broom? I was now lying on the floor lo...

Tina Parkhurst: September 2010

The ramblings of an amusing cat lover and liberal. Wednesday, September 08, 2010. The 10/100 Pound Cat. Because it just gets better. Once the leg and paw are thoroughly washed (but before we dry off ourselves, wipe the pools of excess water from the counter and mirror, and apply the neosporin and band-aids to ourselves), we take the dry portion of the towel that is now half soaked and dry off her leg, and then we put on the VERY dreaded lampshade. Tina Parkhurst: July 2011
http://tinaparkhurst.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
The ramblings of an amusing cat lover and liberal. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. I was discussing my last blog post with some friends the other day. One of them has a son who stutters and part of his therapy involved learning to breathe properly. Apparently, people who stutter often don't breathe properly to begin with and then, when they try to speak, they become frustrated and the problem just becomes worse and worse. What do I need this for? Being a kid is fun stuff! Kids also seem to react well to me.
