This was a bit tricky because a good amount of traditional artwork is done in an angular or rectangular format. After the 2nd week (2 weeks before the midterm) the idea of bubbles popped in. Sunday, January 10, 2010. Flames of a Lion Roaring Rising. 24"x 36" Oil on Canvas. Inspired by the music by Matisyahu's song Aish Tamid, I decided to paint and do my first speed painting session of a fire of a Lion. Thursday, January 7, 2010. 18"x 24" Oil on Canvas. This one took some time and planning, but was very heartfelt. I decided to use a punk because of how heavy into metal I once was in. The painting depicts Boaz, Ruth's Kinsmen Redeemer, spreading his garment over her. Boaz is a shadow of the Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus), who covers us with His mercy, love and truth. The painting depicts the children of Israel appearing before the Lord at Mount Sinai. Above them is the cloud of God's presence, in fire and thick smoke, as He rested upon the mountain to deliver His instructions.
