Saturday, June 22, 2013. After some 32 hours in transit we finally made it home with no major hiccups. Alan managed to get some sleep, unfortunately I didn't. Peta was at the airport to pick us up, she had done some shopping and had made us soup for lunch. Monday, June 17, 2013. After travelling through the Saquoia and Kings Canyon National Parks we finally made it to LA early last evening. We are a little ahead of schedule and are booked in the 'Hollywood Inn' for the next 2 nights which sounded fine on the internet when we booked but not quite so great when we got here. Friday, June 14, 2013. We had a lovely breakfast, the best meal since we got here! We have tried buffet dinner and breakfast, both very ordinary, especially the breakfast. It was an eye opener to see how people piled up their plates with all sorts of stuff that we certainly do not have for breakfast. Last night we decided to have an American hamburger, at least that is what we thought. We got this huge hamburger with enough chips (fries) to feed an army! Look forward to experiencing Yosemite. Picture Win...

Saturday, June 15, 2013. A post I wrote last night and could not upload. We left Reno and made for Virginia City, a quaint little town with lots of history. I made a new ‘best friend’ Stinky. He had quite a bit of info about Virginia City, he also told us that. The house used for the TV series Bonanza was sold few years ago to a multi-millionaire who wanted to convert the place into condo’s. It used to attract many visitors and now nothing. Onto Yosemite and what an amazing park in more ways than one.

Sunday, June 9, 2013. Virginia City and Nevada City. We drove out to Virginia City today and Nevada City. Both towns are like a living history and it was very well done. In Nevada City there was a re-enactment of a murder trial. It was well done though got a little tedious towards the end. We returned back to Yellowstone late in the afternoon and decided to watch the famous Old Faithful Geyser do its thing! We had also hoped to see some more wildlife but all we saw were heaps of buffaloes. Back in the USA.

Wednesday, June 19, 2013. At last, the car has been returned with not a dent or scratch and we are now in the Renaissance Hotel. We had to return the car by 11am, we were ready at 9 am and thought we may as well get going, just as well. we got here at 10.45! This morning the traffic was the worst it has been and the GPS didn't help by giving the wrong turn off and I was forced to cross 7 lanes to get in the right lane for the exit! I am still amazed how I managed to do this. June 19, 2013 at 9:21 AM.
