At the Sound of the Whistle. Monthly Archives: September 2011. A Week in the Life of a Cross Country Runner. September 22, 2011. To kick off our week, we run mile repeats. This is basically running four miles, with two minute breaks in between each one, at a steady and consistant pace. Lately we have also been runing 4 X 800 and 6 X 400 instead. This workout is fast pace with little to no jogging and is very difficult. Afterwards we take an ice bath to help our legs to not be so sore. September 19, 2011.

At the Sound of the Whistle. Monthly Archives: October 2011. October 21, 2011. From last weeks post you may recall how I was worried about making the top seven to run for varsity at the CHL meet. However, I ended up having a pretty good race at Centerville: I got a PR (personal record) and finished fourth on my team. I was CHL bound…. We began to cheer for the open girls. Mara Coyan finished in second overall in this race, and had a great run. I started to lose steam here, until I saw T cheering for me, ...

At the Sound of the Whistle. Track Begins… →. We Got Spirit, How ‘Bout You? March 2, 2012. For those of you who follow my blog, basically the 15 or so of you who have to follow it for a grade, you may be expecting an update on track season. But, since practice doesn’t start until Monday, I really have nothing to write about track. Instead, I’m going to do more of a general topic: team spirit (which you probably gathered from my lame and extremely cliche title). School spirit at Mariemont is amazing, and ...

At the Sound of the Whistle. Monthly Archives: March 2012. March 16, 2012. So it’s official. Track began last Monday. And just incase I ever forget that I have a tough practice waiting for me after every terribly boring day of school, my legs are constantly reminding me as they ache in pain. Yes, I am extremely sore. It has gotten so bad that I can’t sit, walk, or even cross my legs with out wincing. If I wanted to run that long of a distance I would be running cross country. March 2, 2012. For those of ...

At the Sound of the Whistle. Monthly Archives: April 2012. April 27, 2012. Last weekend’s meet was plagued by typical April weather: cold wind and rain. We left at 8:00, a time I have not seen on a Saturday morning since cross country, and I did not get home until 3:30. However, I soon discovered that I would be taking someone else’s spot in the the 4X400. I am not a sprinter. I have never run a 400 before. April 5, 2012. The first event I ran was the 4X800. This is my favorite event, of the ones I c...

At the Sound of the Whistle. Monthly Archives: February 2012. February 16, 2012. First Meet | At the Sound of the Whistle
https://tgiordullo.wordpress.com/2012/04/05/first-meet
At the Sound of the Whistle. My First 400 →. April 5, 2012. Yesterday was our first official track meet. It was at Indian Hill, and some of the other schools there included McNick and Maderia. It was a pretty laid back meet, but I was glad because it gave me a chance to get used to racing again. The most important thing this meet did for me is it got me excited for our 4X800 team. I think we have a chance to get a lot better, and do really well in future meets. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
