Her natural aesthetic seems so effortless and yet it would be impossible for me to restrain myself and create something so satisfying with a limited palette! The postman seemed to go to town stamping, and restamping which adds something unexpected to the simplicity that I think Carmela intended. Tuesday, September 13, 2016. I have a lot of ATCs that I think suck but I can't throw away. I tried adding some things to make them suck less. I adore this albatross rubber stamp I made and I stamped a bunch on map paper as well as those card catalog drawers . I cut them out and added them to my sucky ATCs. Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Procure either a cereal box or similar weight cardboard about 8 1/2 by 11". I scratch up the glossy side with sandpaper to help glue and paint adhere better. I use a 50/50 mix of Elmer's and Aileene's tacky glue. Use your favorite glue to apply a layer of ripped or cut papers to your piece of cardboard. Use a brayer, the palm of your hand or your fingernails to make sure the paper is stuck really well. Let it dry completely. Add a wash of watered down paint. You can see addit...

This man looks like a Sienese characterof someone who I should know from the Uffizi but his gesture and that striped apparatus make me wonder… In fact, I'm sure those are the uniforms Diane requested for street cleaning and he is our trashpo icon.
