Sunday, November 29, 2009. Bike Lanes in Brooklyn and NYC. Here is a pix of a beautiful bike lane on a Sunday morning in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Normally this street would be very busy. I discovered that both Brooklyn and Manhattan have lots of bike lanes. Why can't we do this in Hawaii? Also, being proposed is a series of dedicated bike lanes separated by a curb, making them safer. Friday, January 8, 2010. Holidays are at last over. The holidays are at last over and life is getting back to normal. Everything gets so hectic. I met my friend Jerry in the parking lot near the market. He had ridden his bike there. Bike racks have still not been moved close to the markets in either center. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. New bike lanes planned. As part of Bike Plan Hawaii, new bike lanes will be constructed near the Mokapu area of Oahu. This was voted upon yesterday at the meeting of the Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization. It seems that more people are becoming interested in bicycle safety. They kept sliding back towards the rear of the bike because the lock latch on the bottom was only good for one direction (forward). I used a set of cheap, dollar store bungees for a long time.
