A very playful Jack. June 16, 2013. Jack was in a really good mood today and came down to the underwater viewing area – a lot! As if that was not great enough, he even seemed to enjoy playing peek-a-boo. Of course, he was a favourite among his visitors. But you cannot deny that he is super cute – and he probably knows it! Jack at the Vancouver Aquarium. A close-up of Jack. A very cute Jack. Jack coming down to the underwater viewing area. Jack coming down – from the other side this time. Jack, the charmer.

Aurora and Qila – two beautiful belugas. June 23, 2013. Today both beluga ladies shone during both their training sessions. Among all the behaviours they were showing to their trainers and which the visitors could watch, two actions were, however, remarkable. First, there was Qila leaping out of the water, and second, Indy, a marine mammal trainer, showed the audience how to get urine samples from those belugas. Personal Blog of Marcus and Christine. Whytecliff Park at sunset. Together with some friends we once again went to Whytecliff Park hoping to see some harbour porpoises there. Well, we saw some wildlife – seagulls, double-crested cormorants, and harbour seals, but where were the porpoises? Finally, long after sunset, we spotted five harbour porpoises travelling towards Horseshoe Bay. Seeing these amazing animals was so worth the wait. I can’t wait to be back! View from Whytecliff Park.
