On the Road Again: April 2010

On the Road Again. Thursday, April 1, 2010. The yoga on $5 a day or less project. From March 29 to April 4 my normal yoga studio was closed for spring cleaning and so it was up to me to figure out how and where I was going to practice this week. This opened up the opportunity for me to do three things. 1 Practice yoga with my friends who have expressed interest in the past but have never tried it. 2 Sample different studios and styles of yoga. From these, the Yoga on $5 or Less Project was born. Vinyasa ...

On the Road Again: Antigua
http://constantlyoffbalance.blogspot.com/2013/03/antigua.html
On the Road Again. Saturday, March 23, 2013. I landed in Guatemala this morning and caught a shuttle straight to the town of Antigua. It's a cobbled-stone city nestled between two volcanoes that is touted for it's colonial architecture, international vibe, and it's former status as country capital. But as my shuttle zig-zagged down the one-way streets of Antigua - these weren't the things that stood out to me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Breakfast never looked so good. On the Road Again: May 2011
http://constantlyoffbalance.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
On the Road Again. Saturday, May 28, 2011. Today was my final day in La Paz, and my main plan was to have my first actual Bolivian meal. After my friend conferred with her Bolivian boyfriend for potential eateries, they came to the unfortunate conclusion that vegetarian Bolivian food was basically just a bowl of rice. Sadly, due to the altitude in La Paz, the rice is notoriously bad. Another French meal, it is! Links to this post. Friday, May 27, 2011. Here's what I've got:. There are many ways to say "h...

On the Road Again. Monday, June 29, 2009. Dhauli Hills (Buddhist Temple Outside of Bhubaneswar). Links to this post. Since arriving in Orissa. I had an Indian food experience that was radically different from the previous Indian food experiences I've had. My coworkers and I went to a small Bengali restaurant called Kewpie's. Even though it is located in a dimly lit alley far from the glitz and glamour of the restaurants on Park Street, everyone we asked seemed to know of and recommend it. Students on cam...

On the Road Again: December 2011
http://constantlyoffbalance.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
On the Road Again. Friday, December 23, 2011. I wasn't there in 1970 when Vaclav Havel was banned as a writer for his circulation of a petition of 10 points against Soviet politics. I wasn't there in 1977 when Havel was jailed for nearly five years for his leadership in the Charter 77 organization that called for human rights guaranteed under the Helsinki Accords. And I wasn't there in 1992 when he became the first president of the independent Czech Republic. Now there are those who say that Havel was a ...
