Earth Forms and Artifacts. The Act of Becoming. In 2005 I took a master class with Marita Dingus. In that class Marita showed us a simple way to cut and fold fabric and stitch it to create dimension. This led to a breakthrough for me, taking my hand-dyed fabrics into another dimension. Marita Dyson is an artist interested in the periodic table of the elements, gardening and museum collections. Since completing a degree in art history and Japanese, she has curated and exhibited in various group shows, with her first solo exhibition in 2006. Current work includes illustration for animated music videos, a drawing installation in the Majorca building in Melbourne CBD, and an upcoming exhibition on the periodic table of the elements at City Library.
