Yes it can be done! The rack I used came free with the Donor XR4I. I am sure it was not original fitment to this particular car, I think the previous owner fitted the rack from a different Sierra. Anyway hopefully the pictures will provide both proof and information to any prospective PAS fitters. If you would like any more info please feel free to contact me. Email mark@mark-ash.co.uk.

We are all aware of the problems encountered during the SVA test concerning the Mini heater controls, this is my solution:-. I wanted to be able to direct the air flow either to the screen or car at the push of a button. I decided to use a Bosch combined motor and gearbox (RS 226-1140), this is designed for flap/diverter movement. I removed all the manual controls from the heater and made a bracket to mount the motor and limit micro switches. Switch 1 = Screen limit. Switch 2 = Car limit.

Windscreen Wipers

The problem with a standard Mini wiper system is that the wipers only sweep through 110º this gives the sweep pattern shown below. The standard gear looks like this. Remove the metal part from the plastic (make sure you know which way it goes, if you get it wrong your wipers will park the wrong side), carefully saw off the pin and re-weld flush with the outside of the metal disc. Re-assemble and your wiper sweep should look like this. NB wipers removed in preparation for spraying.
