Balkan Ballads from Bulgarian Bards
Quick stop in Summertime Borovets | West of Eden
https://markandmeg.wordpress.com/2014/06/27/quick-stop-in-summertime-borovets
Balkan Ballads from Bulgarian Bards. Laquo; Med, Dead, Red. The trifecta of the high Seas. Quick stop in Summertime Borovets. 27 June 14 by markandmeg. Hanging out in Borovets. With time winding down, we decided to do a fast trip to Borovets. We couldn’t possibly leave Bulgaria without seeing all of the major ski resorts (Bansko, Pamporovo and Borovets). We took a long weekend after the movers took our stuff. It was a relief from the echoes in our empty home AND our blow up mattresses. On top the mountain.

Balkan Ballads from Bulgarian Bards. Laquo; Roman and Thracian Tombs with Uncle Leif. Quick stop in Summertime Borovets. Med, Dead, Red. The trifecta of the high Seas. 7 June 14 by markandmeg. Another blog entry, and yet again more proof that I am a slacker when it comes to writing these things. The early flight was a bit much for Siena…. Historical Site. And cute child. Explosives. Well, a while ago. Pondering with Uncle Leif. Uncle Leif racing chariots. Sand in the shoes. Very upsetting. Later that day...

Balkan Ballads from Bulgarian Bards. Laquo; Quick stop in Summertime Borovets. 30 June 14 by markandmeg. What a month. What a MONTH! How are we ever going to leave this place? So This month we made the most of it. Mark prepped for defense of his thesis and Megan slowly started to organize for the pack out. And by slowly, I mean not at all. Highlights of the month? Mark got to celebrate Bulgaria’s heroes with guns and festivities. Siena participated in her last ABC production. We bought lots of pottery.

Balkan Ballads from Bulgarian Bards. Laquo; Olmsted Man’s Trip 2014. Its Still All Greek to Me (Except in the Chalkadiki, where it is all Bulgarian). 14 May 14 by markandmeg. Just what the Siena ordered. The objective of the weekend? Give Siena some time to decompress and Mark some time to enjoy NOT driving all over the place. I think we met and exceeded our goals. HAPPINESS is all around. Sand angels. Of course! We needed this weekend. And at the end of the weekend, we just couldn’t help ourselves. ...

Balkan Ballads from Bulgarian Bards. 5 July 14 by markandmeg. This was our last big trip for the Olmsted years. I had, unfortunately, not yet visited Turkey. I think our thought process with this was Ehhhhit’s so close, we can go ANY time. And we kept saying that. Over two years. And soin our last monthwe finally flew down to Turkey with stops in Istanbul and Kusadasi. So Day #1 We arrived at our apartment, which was on the Europe side (so I STILL had not hit up Asia). Annnndddd couldn’t get in. The next...

Singapore | Postcards from Beijing
https://postcardsfrombeijing.wordpress.com/2014/07/23/singapore
8230;the adventures of H R! July 23, 2014. By Postcards From Beijing. Singapore looked so new and modern. We set out for the National Museum of Singapore, which had a little bit of everything – history, art, nature, and out front there were a series of displays put on by the Singapore military as part of the Armed Forces Day celebration. A bell from one of Singapore’s churches inside the museum. Walking through the campus of an art school. Walking through a market area. Not only did Singapore have great ...

8230;the adventures of H R! Malaysia I: KL and Ipoh. June 6, 2014. By Postcards From Beijing. We made it to the Petronas Towers, but unfortunately too late to nab a spot on the viewing deck on the top floor. So, we walked around the mall on the inside, ate some food, and then spent the evening walking around the area just outside the towers. At the cave temples. A large statue of the Chinese goddess Guanyin. As you can see, these temples are well-maintained by the community. Along the outer walls. A woma...

Our Turkish Adventure: August 2012
http://williamsesinturkey.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 10, 2012. Trains, Planes, Automobiles. For real. I'm on a roll today, or rather Paul is taking a nice long nap, so you also get photos from our trip to the Transportation Museum from Tuesday. My favorite was the room with the "how things work" display. A whole bunch of household electronics and a host of engines from big to small, all with their guts on display with an interactive aspect so you could see how they worked. Want to see what happens in your dishwasher? Black Sea, take 1. Sunsc...

Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Eastern Europe, Part 3: Croatia. Here it is: update 3 of our Eastern Europe Road Trip from this summer! Yes, September was a few months ago, but we've been busy. Still no baby girl born yet, so maybe I'll even get the blog fully up to date before she's born! After Slovenia, we spent a week just in Croatia - so much to see! First stop was Zagreb. Even though the light wasn't great, the waterfalls were really beautiful. And the lakes too. See, I was there too! Then we moved farth...

Our Turkish Adventure: July 2012
http://williamsesinturkey.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 14, 2012. We've neglected the blog for too long, so here's a timeline in pictures to catch us up. Bear with us. In November, we took a road trip with Ben and Elizabeth. We visited Troy (seen here). As well as Gallipoli. This is Lone Pine Monument, for fallen ANZAC Soldiers. On the same trip we swung through Bursa; here is the 14th century Ulu Mosque. We also visited Bergama on that trip, visiting the Asclepion (here). The Red Basilica (built in the 2nd century AD). But the view at the top ...

8230;the adventures of H R! August 2, 2014. By Postcards From Beijing. No natural history museum, but we could have gone to this museum. We decided to skip it though. Ahhh, finally, some baseball! Unfortunately, we were a week too early for the exhibition games but. Instead, we kept walking and found ourselves at a rather large temple, which we were welcomed into:. The entrance to the temple was very brightly colored. On the second story of the temple. Inside one of the side rooms. We (well, let’s ...

The Harris Family
Since we are a Navy family I thought that this would be a good way to keep everyone informed with our life.the who, what, where, when, why per se. Thursday, June 18, 2015. Something I don't know that I have ever shared, though I may have on an anniversary, is that when I was in high school there was a shooting at a sister church of mine, Wedgwood Baptist, during a See You At The Pole rally. Was I there? Saturday, June 13, 2015. And that Dairy Queen still tastes amazing on a hot day. ;). I think that I li...
