Mark Little's WebLog: Listening versus talking

http://markclittle.blogspot.com/2015/04/listening-versus-talking.html

Sunday, April 26, 2015. As the song goes . "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven". In any conversation or meeting there's a time to listen and a time to talk. Unfortunately in many environments there's an implicit peer pressure to be heard and be seen to be heard (! That can be harder to do than you might think, especially as meetings become very vocal and people verbally challenge each other to be the dominant individual. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Mark Little's WebLog: January 2014

http://markclittle.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 25, 2014. I've read a few articles from analysts or media recently where they talk about 2014 as the year of Hybrid Cloud. I think this is good to hear, but I also wonder why it's taken so long for some in the industry to accept the inevitable? OK that's more of a rhetorical question, since I do know the answer and I'm sure many of you will too. In reality I find it amusing, with more of an "I told you so" approach! Or simply getting data into and from. So although 2014 may be the year ...

Mark Little's WebLog: Monoliths and a bit of a history lesson

http://markclittle.blogspot.com/2015/05/monoliths-and-bit-of-history-lesson.html

Sunday, May 10, 2015. Monoliths and a bit of a history lesson. Update: one thing I forgot to make explicit but hopefully comes through in the above post and the earlier one on web-scale. Is that to suggest is that to suggest application servers (Java or something else) aren't sufficient for web-scale is difficult to justify since many high profile sites do run today quite well on them. Mark Little's WebLog: A little more on transactions and microservices

http://markclittle.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-little-more-on-transactions-and.html

Saturday, May 16, 2015. A little more on transactions and microservices. I had some interesting discussions this week which made me want to write something more. On transactions (really XA) and microservices. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow nmcl at http:/ twitter.com. Kids and asynchronous messaging. A little more on transactions and microservices. Monoliths and a bit of a history lesson. Web-scale: I do not think it means what you think . Slightly frustrating article . View my complete profile.
