Mark Hargest - Paintings
http://www.markhargest.co.uk/paint_hampton.htm
This is painted on a box canvas using acrylic paint. This is one of larger and more detailed paintings to date. It has a good blend of colour and depth. Hampton Court is a very picturesque place and this picture aims to capture the variety of foliage and colours. To see a larger version.

This is painted on a canvas board using acrylic paint and features a 12 millimetre walnut frame with gold inlay, an ivory-colour mount and an acrylic glazing. On my 31st birthday my partner and friends took me to have dinner at a very fine restaurant contained within Combe House. It was a lovely time of year featuring bright sunshine. During the drive to Combe House it appeared over the ridge and it was an excellent opportunity for a painting subject.

Connaught Gardens, Sidmouth. This painting is from Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth, Devon, UK. Part of what inspired the painting of this picture was the different architectural details that create interesting shapes that naturally lead the viewers eye towards the background. Added to that is the shadow which provides a dividing line between the different sections, almost like a barrier between the two areas.

This is painted on canvas using acrylic paint with a black frame. I have written more information on this painting on the Commissions page so please visit that page if you would like to know more. Further to what I have written there, this picture was a very pleasing experience, I enjoyed this painting very much as the intricacy of the pebbles and blending of elements came together very well. Depth: 0.5 Inches.

Surbiton Chess Club
http://surbitonchessclub.co.uk/news_new_website.htm
New Look Surbiton Website Launched. Many thanks are due to Mark Hargest who has transformed the look of our website from the childishily simple "turn Word docs into html files" format of the luddite webmaster into a very professional looking site. I hope this will further increase our club's profile and attract even more new members. The very least I can do is, therefore, to give Mark a plug!
