Monday, July 27, 2009. Potlakaya Perugu Pachadi(SnakeGuard in yogurt gravy). It is known as potlakaaya in Telugu, pathola in Sinhala, pudalankaai (புடலங்காய்) in Tamil, dhunduli in Assamese, paduvalakaayi in Kannada and padavalanga in Malayalam. 1 medium size potlakaya. 1/2 medium onion chopped fine. 2 red chillies broken into half. 2 green chillies chopped fine. 1 tsp mustard seeds. 1/2 tsp urad dal. 1/2 tsp channa dal. Now add these cooked pc's to the yogurt,add the chopped onions and keep aside.

Gongura Mamsam (Gongura mutton). 1 lb gongura leaves. 1 tsp shah jeera. 1 big onion chopped fine. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste. 1 tsp coriander pwd. 1 tbsp red chilli pwd. 1/2 tsp garam masala pwd. 1 Tbsp freshly extracted tamarind paste. Pick the gongura leaves from the stem,wash them and keep aside. Out of the things that i missed after coming to US was all the lovely street foods like pani puri,chaat,pav bhajji,noodles.n the list goes on.So I thought the country might be foreign to me but still its where my home is.my very first home after marriage. I sat down one day n started thinking why not make everything that i miss in india at home in US as well n there i am today will all the pav bhajjis,chaat's,pani puris etc.Today here i am with a dish named Ragada patties.
