Slapdash Art Blog: Tonight...
http://slapdashash.blogspot.com/2010/12/tonight.html
Art, Politics, Night on the town, Whatever. Monday, December 20, 2010. We're trying to put the baby to sleep. Reading cozy Christmas stuff about gingerbread cookies and flying reindeer and evergreen trees. Suddenly we hear scratching noises coming from the hallway. I figure it's her poor dog going senile and trying to bury her dog biscuit again. What's that dog doing? That's not my dog. It's your damned cats again.". Merry Skunkmas to All, and to all a good night. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Useless Dissident: January 2009
http://uselessdissident.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
To be called McCarthyist and fascist and paranoid. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Meanwhile in Moscow, Havana and Tehran. As the United States "stimulates" itself into oblivion, the weak and coiled snakes begin to sense weakness, and make their moves. Russia 'stops missile deployment in Europe because of Obama.'. That is a good one. Russia has held out an olive branch to President Barack Obama by suspending plans to deploy missiles in Europe. Bear in mind that the Times (UK) is a relatively conservative ne...

With ex-KGB propagandist Yuri Bezmenov. The video has been making the rounds on some conservative websites. The transcription includes screen captures of Bezmenov's slides, which were shown during his interview. You can also buy a DVD from this website. Well, specifically, what did you object to? Mr Bezmenov, we’ve read a lot about...

Slapdash Art Blog: Trying to get back into painting.
http://slapdashash.blogspot.com/2011/06/trying-to-get-back-into-painting.html
Art, Politics, Night on the town, Whatever. Thursday, June 02, 2011. Trying to get back into painting. I've been making a living painting dramatic buildings and landscapes and evil villainous lairs out of my head for the last fifteen years. There's so much information in the real world! I'll see if I can find a villain's lair to paint during a storm. Reference makes all the difference. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Best viewed with Safari. View my complete profile. Art, Politics, Night on the town, Whatever. Monday, March 12, 2012. Flashback to my brief career in comics. Portion of my watercolor guide for Silvestri/Batt double page spread from Cyblade Shi#1. Here's a cropped scan of a Marc Silvestri piece (inked by Batt) from Cyblade/Shi #1. I was the colorist for the book but there was a team of people doing digital color due to the tight deadlines. (At one point I was doing five or six pages a day.). Click on the image for higher resolution.

When we hear the cry of “dissent,” then, from within the Soviet Union (or modern Russia, or China, or other totalitarian states), we must ask, “How does this serve the regime? 8221; That must always be our first question. “Why did they allow this to be published? Useless Dissident: Review: Abel
http://uselessdissident.blogspot.com/2009/05/review-abel.html
To be called McCarthyist and fascist and paranoid. Sunday, May 3, 2009. Is a perfect example of how terrible some books about the Cold War can be. This account, written by Louise Bernikow, covers a relatively narrow subject in the intelligence battle between the Soviet Union and the United States, yet it widely misses the mark. Instead of facing reality, the author and her accomplice Silverman chose to believe that it was the legend, Emil Goldfus, who was real, and the spy Rudolph Abel who was the legend...
