I'm Mark and welcome to my online photo album. I travel a lot. Sometimes with my famly and often without them. Many times I will not return to the same place twice. Memories are important and photos help us remember. So these are my photos. Here you will find people, places, family and anything else that seemed important or special at the time. For more stuff about my family and about me, go to my blog at www.markroddis.com. Xa9; 2017 SmugMug, Inc.

USA Holiday 2014 – Part One – Las Vegas. Sunday, September 7th, 2014. Tuesday, September 15th, 2015. We have just returned from a couple of weeks in the USA. Our 2014 summer vacation. The holiday was split into 2 parts with 6 nights in Las Vegas and then a few more nights in San Francisco. As you can imagine, my camera was never far from my side so here are a selection of pictures (the full set can be found by following the links to my photo album). First of all Las Vegas itself. I genuinely love to trav...

Hotel Review – Holiday Inn Slough Windsor – Mark Roddis
https://markroddis.com/2015/06/04/hotel-review-holiday-inn-slough-windsor
Hotel Review – Holiday Inn Slough Windsor. Thursday, June 4th, 2015. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Slough Windsor a few years ago and it was rather tired and a bit of a let down. This is still not the best Holiday Inn in the area and it’s still in a rough part of town and there is still a strip club next door but it has certainly improved. Parking was like a game of Tetris and whilst I did find a space, it took a while. I ate in the hotel and the burger that I had was OK. Posted in Hotel Review. Hello, I’m...

https://markroddis.com/2014/09/07/usa-holiday-2014-part-two-zion-the-valley-of-fire
USA Holiday 2014 Part Two Zion and The Valley of Fire. Sunday, September 7th, 2014. Thursday, September 10th, 2015. After a few days in Vegas we had seen the sites and were itching to get out of the hot city and into the countryside so armed with a Ford Escape (Ford Kuga for you brits) from Avis, we headed East through the Nevada desert, into Arizona and then finally into Utah. Towards the head of the canyon there were dozens of squirrels that whilst not tame were certainly not afraid of humans. On the w...
Ironbridge Gorge – June 2014 – Mark Roddis
https://markroddis.com/2014/07/05/ironbridge-gorge-june-2014
Ironbridge Gorge – June 2014. Saturday, July 5th, 2014. Tuesday, September 15th, 2015. The wheels keep on turning and this weekend we have headed over to the other side of the country to Telford in Shropshire and to Ironbridge. This is where the industrial revolution began and what happened in this beautiful corner of the country impacted the world that we live in today in ways that you can only start to imagine. There is a good reason why Ironbridge is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Posted in Days Out.

Observations… in poetry and prose. My Blog is Giving Me the Finger. Getting through each day. So I’m new at this blogging stuff. I have wanted to write for a while, even started writing essays before I had a venue to publish. And so with some trepidation and a lot of excitement, I started this blog. On December 19th at 10pm-ish, I announced to my friends and family that I had a blog, please visit, blah blah blah. People were reading my stuff! How cool was that. 8221; and he dutifully replied “What? Poste...
