The design maximises space and natural light by opening onto landscaped courtyards on the northern and southern side, and by the introduction of a large void space above the dining room. The dining room extends through an outdoor kitchen and terminates with an in-situ concrete garage and carport.

Sentimentality has become a lost ideal. The significance of a secular object, something temporary, simply existing in the moment, can contain similar emotions, which are attached to something sacred. Has commodification slowed our progress of remembering? Mass-production has, in my mind, to some extent, slightly shattered sentimentality. We must remain hopeful. War is war. Sadness is sadness. Both can be overcome. Remaining optimistic in the face of failure, that gives us character.
