This Weekend I visited Craven Arms Caravans to buy an old small campervan with the view to taking it as a support vehicle, . and additionally going on holidays with my wife.(Sorry Ann). When I told Martin, the owner of Craven Arms Caravans, why we wanted it he very kindly promised £50 to our charity. which was very generous of him, especially as we had already purchased the camper at that point. After the stunning quiet roads of the last few days.what a boring drag to Ax les Therme straight busy roads with "unnecessary" inclines and declines. At this stage of tiredness you begrudge any loss of height especially when you can see at the end of a 1 mile straight the road rises back up. (with interest of course). Mark Walmsley's Raid Pyreneen. Wednesday, 18 June 2008. Just a few days to go so how about some data to sum up the training this year (mainly recorded by my garmin edge (A sort of bike satellite recorder thingy). Total distance trained = 4558 km. Total calories burned = 273671 Kcalories. More than 182 fish and chip suppers - I don't remember eating that many! Total time on the road (not always cycling i.e. sitting down for lunch etc. 26 number 12 hour days) almost a month! Maximum speed 51 mph.
