Johnna's Painting Blog: Reception and More
http://johnnaschelling.blogspot.com/2015/07/reception-and-more.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. The artist reception at 8 Chains North winery was great – lots of friends attended. It was extra special because I haven’t seen a few of them in quite a while. There were several dogs happy to be part of the festivities despite how crazy hot it was that day! Delighted that one of my paintings sold – see bottom right At the Lake. Two other paintings sold as well. The four of us were quite pleased with the show, the promotion by the winery, and the overall event. That thing is HUGE...

Johnna's Painting Blog: Merry, Merry and Cha-Ching
http://johnnaschelling.blogspot.com/2014/12/merry-merry-and-cha-ching.html
Thursday, December 11, 2014. Merry, Merry and Cha-Ching. A fellow artist put together their 2014 Most Viewed paintings on DPW. What a great idea! My ah-hah moment was to twist it up, exclude those already taken (this is about you. Not me), discount the price for holiday gift giving (not sayin' who should get the gift, if you know what I mean! And put these gems on auction along with the added plus of a buy it now price that's especially low since we're all hurrying and need to get gifts in the mail asap!

Johnna's Painting Blog: Happy New Year
http://johnnaschelling.blogspot.com/2015/01/happy-new-year.html
Saturday, January 3, 2015. The holiday art sale was a real boost - I was thoroughly delighted that four paintings sold. Even better, I got to deliver them in person - it is always extraordinary when people connect through art. I don't think it matters if they like the same things or not, but having it in common really does seem "out of the ordinary.". Another painting was purchased as a gift and is headed to Europe. That shared experience, and now this painting, shows me there are no boundaries. Favorite...

Johnna's Painting Blog: Fiesta Fish
http://johnnaschelling.blogspot.com/2015/01/fiesta-fish.html
Thursday, January 8, 2015. Trying a few new things to get back in the groove. Painting fish is total fun because it just seems odd and lets you play around - I wanted to do something more angular / abstract, but these guys just wanted to get going - somewhere, anywhere. Right now it's 18 degrees and I am in Virginia - the whole week it's been freezing, but I guess that's happening across the country right now. Click Here to bid - starts Saturday 1/10/15. Enjoy - life is joy we make one moment at a time,.

Johnna's Painting Blog: Catching Up - Class Recap
http://johnnaschelling.blogspot.com/2015/01/catching-up-class-recap.html
Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Catching Up - Class Recap. There also seems to be a little "mantra" that goes along with this cult - do something, then tell us what you learned. So here's the recap from my recent class and the new things I learned:. Block it in (largest object first, then middle, then "baby bear"). Make an interesting mud for the background (huh, really? Get extreme on the composition - zoom in! Fine-tune the focal point. Yellow Pom-poms in a crystal bowl (12"x12" canvas). This is what you g...

Judge a Book by its Cover: Unclean Tushie Tuesday.
http://judgeabook.blogspot.com/2011/01/unclean-tushie-tuesday.html
Judge a Book by its Cover. De gustibus non est disputandum. There's no accounting for taste. Even the spirits are fleeing her tramp stamped tushie. Had that illustrator ever actually SEEN a woman? January 25, 2011 at 4:39 PM. She is sporting a mighty set of arse antlers. January 25, 2011 at 10:51 PM. At least this artist realizes that the only way those pants can stay on is if they bite her butt. January 27, 2011 at 7:52 AM. Damn I dont want to be a skinny basher, but - WHERE IS HER ASS? News you can use.
