A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Monday, 31 December 2007. Today Clare, Trevor and I walked around Coire an Lochain, up the ridge and navigated our way over to Ben MacDui. It was very misty and damp but there was quite good snow cover which made the walking quite easy going and we met several skiers and snowboarders at the summit. We cut back across the plateau and walked round the top of Coire an t-Sneachda and by this time, the cloud had lifted a little and we got some views! Sunday, 30 December 2007.

A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Monday, 18 February 2008. Circus skills and snowholes. Today we went to dig snowholes and practise climbing up steeper ground and getting back down again. It was interesting to find out that Charles and Alastair both had experience of "circus skills" with Charles practised in the art of performing acrobatics using long, silk ribbons. He compared the skills he knows with those needed for doing a classic abseil using the ropes in place of the ribbons! Views from Beinn Ghl...

A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Wednesday, 29 October 2008. Hidden Chimney Direct, Coire an t-Sneachda. We were out in Coire an t-Sneachda today along with quite a few other folk. The weather couldn't have been better - no wind and cold! Our route had lots of fresh snow and the turf we found on our route was not frozen but the climbing was interesting. A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Saturday, 14 June 2008. Summer 2008 and a little book back at 2007. I'm off to the Alps for the next three months and home will be the Talisman Basecamp Motorhome! Just to set the scene, here are a few photos from last year of the fantastic scenery we found in Bregalia and a photo of the first mole I have ever seen, so cute! The last photo is of Piz Badile and we plan to go back to climb the Cassin Route, weather permitting. Posted by Fi at Saturday, June 14, 2008.

A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Friday, 28 March 2008. Another day out playing in the snow. The weather was looking rather gloomy as we walked into Coire an t-Sneachda on Thursday but the clouds started to clear. By the time Sue and I reached the top of Jacob's Ladder, the sun had come out and the views across the whole of Cairngorm were fantastic. Posted by Fi at Friday, March 28, 2008. A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Monday, 28 January 2008. La Grave.part 5. For our last route of the trip we ventured to Vallon du Diable. This was a new area for us though we had been in for a look in the past. The climbs on the south facing cliffs were deteriorating and we saw and heard avalanches of ice and rock coming down the gullies. At one point, the path was affected by avalanche debris from both sides. Posted by Fi at Monday, January 28, 2008. La Grave.part 4. La Colere du Ciel (II, 3 ).lo...

A day to day diary of fi marmotte. Saturday, 27 September 2008. Bugeleisen 5th and 6th August. The Bugeleisen, or Flat Iron as it is known, is a classic route in the Bregaglia area so we had to go and climb it! It gets the name Flat Iron from its distinctive shape. Posted by Fi at Saturday, September 27, 2008. Friday, 26 September 2008. Via Miki, Bio Pillar 3rd August.
