Educational Psych: DCS Board Members
http://bridgetsblog1.blogspot.com/2008/10/dcs-board-members.html
Thursday, October 30, 2008. This entry is a reflection about the Decorah. Community School Board Members that spoke to our class on Monday evening. I thought that Mona Nelson and David Ranum. Were both very informative about their experiences as school board members. It was interesting to learn about the allocated funds and that most of the money is earmarked for specific items and is out of the control of the district. Ranum. 160; When could this actually happen? Bridget's ed psych blog.

Bethany's Edu. Blog: March 2010

Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Traditional vs. Choice. I thought that the international student panel was very interesting and enlightening in class. We talked about topics such as a typical school day, homework, expectations, and assimulating. To me, the experience both of these students are having is amazing. I think teachers, administrators, parents, etc. should try and help students. To have a good work ethic because they know and want the benefits. Thursday, March 11, 2010. SoI decided to turn to my early...

Bethany's Edu. Blog: November 2008
http://bethanyv22.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2008. Sunday, November 23, 2008. I thought this movie was alright. I think it was good for future teachers to see because although these situations were made up and exaggerated, we could come across a colleague like one of these teachers. In my education history, I had a teacher who was a mix between Mr. Lowrey. Because he acted like he had no idea what he was doing and Mr. Stoope. Because he still tried to make the students believe he was the best teacher. I didn't receive. YouTube ...

Jen's Ed Psych Blog: November 2008
http://jenedpsych.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Jen's Ed Psych Blog. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. On Monday night we had three parents from the community come and talk to us. All of the parents agreed that a second language should be taught at a young age. One of the parents said that they took a second language when they were in second grade. They think that knowing that language helped them when they took another language later in high school. They agreed that the language should be started at the second or third grade level. He gave us some of the...

Jen's Ed Psych Blog: No Child Left Behind
http://jenedpsych.blogspot.com/2010/03/no-child-left-behind.html
Jen's Ed Psych Blog. Friday, March 5, 2010. No Child Left Behind. Today in lecture we talked about No Child Left Behind. We addressed some of the background information. I feel that this is a touchy subject to talk about. Not everyone has the same views. The general goal of NCLB. For everyone to be proficient, is good. The way that they are going about this goal is not the best. I feel that there is too much testing taking place. I have heard teachers say that because of NCLB. I agree with you. I als...

Educational Psych: High Stakes Community Schools
http://bridgetsblog1.blogspot.com/2008/10/high-stakes-community-schools.html
Monday, October 13, 2008. High Stakes Community Schools. 160; I think that this exercise makes us future teachers realize that accountability for how and what students learn is the focus of our job as educators. Teaching isn't easy, it is complex and demanding, so you better make sure that you are up for the challenge. . Bridget's ed psych blog. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Monday, October 13, 2008. Leona Holt and Adam Riley- Guest Speakers 10-13-08. 160; I enjoyed that comments and responses by the two administrators that were guest speakers for this evenings Ed. Psych. class. The highlights for me were the points made about what good teaching is. (The teacher has to connect with the kids, motivate students, be a facilitator, know intent and outcomes, feel rewarded, but most of all have a passion for working with kids.). Educational Psych: The movie 13
http://bridgetsblog1.blogspot.com/2008/10/movie-13.html
Sunday, October 5, 2008. Obviously not very involved in their children's lives. . Both the movie and the news report are disturbing. It seems like in today's society kids are raising themselves; there are no boundaries with promiscuity as the norm. How are educators suppose to do their jobs when students are so troubles with serious life issues? Bridget's ed psych blog. October 5, 2008 at 11:48 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
