The journalism era of William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, in which the name recognition of the newspaper’s totalitarian editor was as important as the newspaper’s content, has long faded away. The days of four newspapers covering one metropolis are gone. Traditional Journalism vs. Citizen Journalism. Of a mome...

This blog is for my Interactive Journalism class. Response to Key People Assignment - to Chris and his Responders. My contribution is this link:. Http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaboration. I agree that Jimmy Wales is perhaps a bit idealistic and even, in some respects, a hopeless optimist. In a world so quick to criticize, however, I think we need people who believe in the best parts of human nature, one of which is our ability to work together to solve problems. But as long as the majority of the commu...

Monday, September 26, 2005. MySpace is the new high school. As I entered myspace.com and set up my own account, I couldn’t help but think back to my days in high school. In this way, MySpace is a lot like My Yahoo! Friday, September 23, 2005. Jimmy Wale...

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Katie Rough Draft - Collaborative Spaces and Virtual Communities. Your rough draft was pretty good! I have returned it to you with detailed corrections, but here are some general recomendations. Do not begin sentances with "But" so often. I would advise you to put your paper into a large font, say 16, double space it, and read through it slowly each paragraph at a time. On the first read, adress clarity issues. Second, possible structural improvements. Good Work so far!
