Mi regreso a las pistas ambigramáticas, tras una larga ausencia, viene de la mano de esta banda de Nueva York, con un ambigrama fuertemente inspirado en su logo. El gran desafío para este ambigrama era lograr invertir una "k" en una "r" (click sobre la imagen para agrandarla). I'm back from a long ambigram break with this design for a great New York band. The ambigram is strongly inspired on their logo. I had to deal with a tough k/r pair (click on the image to enlarge). Muy bueno, Homero!

I don't really know that much about this kind of music, I only know that they were precursors of electronic music, and that I will see them minutes before Radiohead plays here in Santiago on March. In this design I traded legibility for some esthetic touches: the way the letters in "kra" fit among themselves is a rare thing and I wanted to use it in this ambigram. Este ambigrama lo empecé a hacer cuando empezamos a salir; requirió mucho trabajo, y pasé por muchas versiones diferentes antes de decidirme por una. Que me costó mucho escoger un diseño para el ambirgama de Verónica, mentí un poco, porque la verdad es que me quedé con dos versiones. Ésta es la que a ella más le gustó. When I said before. Update 2011 (más vale tarde.):. Ahora que enlacé esta entrada, me di cuenta de que tiene un error no menor. Steve, que en verdad es el guitarrista (aunque toca otros instrumentos también) casi. Perdió su mano, de hecho sigue tocando con la banda con sus dos manos intactas como se puede verificar con una rápida búsqueda en Google. Como siempre, cada vez me gustan más tus ambigramas y las soluciones que haces para cada letra y frases que parecen imposibles de ambigramarse. Como siempre, genial.

Monday, March 30, 2009. This ambigram was commissioned by Donna for her sons - Gage and Seth. While Donna wanted a feminine ambigram, i have been unable to create the design in calligraphic/styled font - the inversion just doesn't help. So i reverted back to simple designs. 8 bit helped me - the clear lines makes the ambigram very readable and very simple. If Seth and Gage like Mario, they'll surely love this graphic design. I'm currently trying to make a design with modern font for this ambigram.

Sunday, March 30, 2008. This symbiotogram was commissioned by Allan as a wedding gift for Harry and Aruna. It has been done in a stylish calligraphic script with much flowing around.
