We try to stock as much in the way of local produce as we can, many items made, grown or produced within the Waveney Valley. Fresh and frozen pork, sausages and bacon are from our own pork, butchered by Artisan butchers Palfrey and Hall. Other meat we stock comes from local farms through our wholesale butcher. Fruit and veg is local and seasonal when we can. We have fresh bread delivered daily from Tudor Bakehouse. And milk from Marybelle. Delivered 3 times a week. Alburgh, Harleston,. Norfolk, IP20 0EP.

September 3, 2014. I thought we’d been doing quite well. Then I had a jolt when I remembered that yesterday, unthinkingly, I’d accepted a chocolate. A kid’s star-shaped sweet milk chocolate chocolate. That was Day Two and I failed –. Wow, this is hard. Still, today’s pit stop at the Newbourne Farm Shop. Was an easy 30:30 fit. Loads of local veg and fruit. Yesterday’s kohl rabi and potato gratin. I tried to drown my sorrows in a glass of pear juice while pretending it was wine. It didn’t work.

September 5, 2014. I thought I might lose weight on this challenge: more home cooked food, no daily glass of wine…. But, of course, you can still come home after a long day and mindlessly eat and drink the bad stuff. Like last night, when I polished off some Aspalls. Cider and some rather delicious chili flavoured Fairfield. Crisps. Nom nom. Friday night is traditionally curry night. Sauce for me and a Newbourne. Special spaghetti bol for J (tomatoes from mother in law and the farm shop), Revett’s. You a...

https://3030walders.wordpress.com/2014/09/18/when-it-goes-wrong-part-one
When it goes wrong – Part One. September 18, 2014. It’s easy to identify when it goes wrong:. 2 being tired and fed up. 3 lack of preparation. 4 boredom (see also 2). Not in the sense that other people sabotage things (although you have to be careful – see previous post about unthinkingly accepting chocolates). But when people come to stay, all the way from Manchester, semi-work but friends for a long time… well, I couldn’t just offer cider. So there has to be wine (Fairtrade, natch). 8220;Didn’t w...
