Friday, December 11, 2009. Panama es bien solido broder! Although I know I'm really behind on blogging, I did want to let everyone know how/where I am. I got back from Nicaraugua just fine (well, more or less. that's a story for later) and Julia and I made it to Panama okay. We arrived at 4ish in the morning on Wednesday. We hung around in the hostel, Luna's Castle. Headed to the city today and going to shop the markets a bit more. Taking the 16hr bus back to Costa Rica tonight at 11pm. Ugh. ...Highlight...

Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Puntarenas and Family Fun in Curri. Highlights of the end of September and the beginning of October include: a trip to Puntarenas, attending a tico friend’s concert, celebrating my friend Leti’s birthday, a backyard fiesta with my family, and many nights out with friends. Ismael and Santi play. My host mom settles in to eat. Gaby enjoys the food even though she can't have any guaro. My host dad paints and jokes with us. Princesa has no idea what to think of all this ruckus.

So, something rather bizarre happened today, and it made me think of a couple of other things, so I wanted to write about them before I forget them entirely. Today after my incredibly boring geology class I was walking to the Grupo de Kansas office, but stopped in my tracks once I realized what was going on just a few yards in front of me. I watched as a group of police officers took a man down! An everyday occurrence in our old neighborhood.).

Sunday, October 25, 2009. Birthday Weekend in Tortuguero. As my birthday weekend approached, I had to decide what to do… stay in San Jose or travel. After I got over the fact that I was turning 23 (sooo old! I decided to go with some friends to Tortuguero.
