Age Discrimination Commissioner Susan Ryan has called on all employers, large and small, to actively consider hiring mature workers. From July 1, the government’s incentive of $10,000 to employers who hire a previously unemployed person over 50 came into effect, Commissioner Ryan said. She said the government was sending a strong and important signal with this incentive.
