We choose to preform all of our lessons at Assateague Island. This is the best place to learn how to surf in the Delmarva area. The break at Assateague Island is great, the waves break off the beach (not shore break) and the break is soft which is great for beginners and the sand bar allows participants to stand in most cases. What to expect — Maryland Surf School

All lessons dependent on weather and surf conditions. Life jackets are available with a prior request. Participant must be capable of freely swimming on his/her own. Minimum of 6 years of age. Parental oversight required. Rash guards not required but are strongly recommended. Sun Screen and Sunglasses strongly recommended. Have a great time in the sun and surf!

First lesson is 90 minutes. Then they go to an a hourly following your first lesson. We try to keep all of our lesson to a two to one ratio ( 1 instructor and maximum of 2 students) this would mean our capacity is usually four participants, but can make accommodations, if necessary. Lessons are either private or semi private with a ratio of 1 instructor to 2 participants. 95 per person for first lesson! 80 for additional lesson (1 hr)! All lessons dependent on weather and surf conditions!

My love for surfing began when I was 12 years old, whenI first learned how to surf. I have been surfing ever since and love to spread my love of surfing to others. I surf year around in Ocean City, Maryland and Assateague Island, Maryland. I have taught many individuals how to surf including my father and Midshipmen at the United States Navel Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. I have been surfing since I was 12 years old and enjoy spreading my love of surfing to others.

The goal of the surf school is not only to spread the love of the sport, but also we want to make sure that the beginners are taught the safe and correct techniques of surfing.
