http://eclecticchica.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Monday, April 30, 2012. 2012 Art Auction Project: Who Let the Dogs Out. The dogs are finished! And they turned out beyond my expectations. We got so many compliments on the canvases as I walked them back into the school to show the kids in Mrs. S's class how they turned out. They voted on names for their art pieces. The one above became "Who Let the Dogs Out". And the one below became "Rainbow Dogs". Saturday, April 28, 2012. Now the scary part.EEK!

Eclectic Chica: Printed Leaves with Pastel Echo Lines
http://eclecticchica.blogspot.com/2014/10/printed-leaves-with-pastel-echo-lines.html
Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Friday, October 3, 2014. Printed Leaves with Pastel Echo Lines. Wow did this project come together easier than I thought! 9x12 Black Construction Paper. Fall Leaves (freshly fallen, not crunchy). I thought we'd have more blobby prints with too much paint. But they printed their leaves magnificently! We let them dry while I then demonstrated how to do the echo lines with the pastels. But they all turned out pretty fabulous, don't you think? Please feel f...

Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. All the poplars made it up in front of Mrs. H's classroom! I love them even more seeing them all together! Saturday, October 18, 2014. Mrs H's class just visited Monet and learned about his famous poplar series of paintings. 9x12 white construction paper. Then we added our poplar trunks with black paint, making some look closer and some farther away. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Easy Mixed Media Trees. Using 9x12 white construct...

http://eclecticchica.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Sunday, September 30, 2012. This was such an easy project for the first week of kindergarten for M's class. White construction paper, some brushes and tempera paint was all that was needed. Oh, and some cute little kindergarten hands.we needed those too. It was great to talk to all of the kids and get to know M's new class while I painted their hands and wrists tree bark brown. M got creative and added some flowers and a sun. VERY cute and VERY easy.

Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Thursday, September 18, 2014. Super Hero Second Graders. Okay, here is the lesson I was yakking about in my last post. Mrs H and I decided super hero self-portraits would be a nice display for the parents to see on Open House Night. We went with the #2 super hero version as I thought it would be the easiest for this class, and keeping everything on one sheet of paper would be easier to keep together. 18x24 white construction paper. Brushes, water cups.

Eclectic Chica: November 2014
http://eclecticchica.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Friday, November 21, 2014. Here is a fun and easy Fall lesson that required minimal supplies and used a fun art history lesson on Piet Mondrian. 9x12 white construction paper. Red, Yellow and Blue markers. Yep, that is all it took. Here are the easy steps. Then the students could start coloring in their shapes using yellow and blue and red. I let them keep the black markers because we talked quite a bit about composition in Mondrian's work and how a...

Crafty inconsequential randomness in all its glory. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Grinch and Whoville Art Lesson. The inspiration for this project comes from The Elementary Art Room. She has such a great project with a Who-ville landscape and a giant Grinch. I just loved it when I first saw it. She also made a great handout. For Who-ville and inspired me to make a few of my own for our class lesson. Besides my handouts and two examples, I quickly showed them how I drew some Who-ville houses. Then we talk...
