Garden to Table 2015. Monday, August 31, 2015. High winds Saturday morning shredded one of our blinds. All the plastic that covered the tomatoes, potatoes, and garlic were blown off. I didn't get a picture . we had a pot of delicious fresh beets for dinner . sliced on our salad greens - kale, chard, beet leaves, lettuce and basil. Saturday, June 27, 2015. Garlic Scapes, Onions and Basil. These scapes were picked June 10 and were too tough to eat. I sauteed the seed heads with onions and they were delicious. Red onions are ready for harvest and I have lots of basil, all from last year's cuttings. Friday, June 26, 2015.

Garden to Table 2015. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Today we picked a large batch of green beans. Most were on the large size, and not good for blanching and freezing. So I roasted them in oil with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. The first 3 pans finished. Roasted at 400F convection bake for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. 3 larger quart bags with oil. 6 smaller bags - 5 oz. each with oil. Ready for the freezer. Garden to Table 2015. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Roasting Beets and Beet Tops. I am roasting all my beets and tops for the freezer. I have not done this before, so I don't know how they will be in winter. Lots of beets to harvest. Without tops, a large bowl full, all sizes. There were so many beautiful beet tops that I had to use them. Sliced beets in oil, salt and pepper. Ready for roasting at 400F (convection oven) 425F (conventional oven). Chopping the beet stems and tops. Stir every 10 - 15 minutes.
