Thursday, August 5, 2010. I've always heard that life is like a roll of toilet tissue- the closer you get to the end the faster it goes! I can't believe so many days have passed since my last post. When I answered an email by telling the story of how God used a particular song to strengthen and comfort me, I decided (with my cousin's encouragement) to post it here also. Friday, March 5, 2010. This morning I had planned to do my normal stuff- coffee, e-mails (especially the morning devotionals), F acebook. Immediately an incident from 1993 popped into my mind. My oldest son, recovering from an automobile accident, needed physical therapy every day for weeks. This fact caused us to drive the 30 miles from our home to Tupelo. That look was still in her eyes; I said nothing, and I had no letter to give her. So sorry that I had not obeyed the Lord's prompting.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010. When I was six months old, I became ill with the dreaded disease polio. My mother and father rushed to Memphis, where I was placed in a ward with numerous polio victims- all children. Since polio is extremely contagious, none of the parents were allowed to stay; all were forced (hard to imagine today, isn't it? To leave their children at the hospital, knowing that they might never see them again. I was one of the fortunate ones- I survived with only slight muscular problems.

I went on my first trip outside of Ibague this past weekend to Villa de Leyva, Paipa, Tunja, etc. Yes, the elusive Villa de Leyva, the mirage in the sky. The point of the trip was to get to Villa de Leyva to do some rappelling, canopying, and stuff, but we got there only three or four hours before we were supposed to come back on Sunday!
