Saturday, March 6, 2010. This morning Mike went and helped volunteer at Bountiful Baskets. He had a good time and was glad he went to help out. He said he would probably do it again next week. One of the perks of volunteering in the morning is that you often get some extra produce. This was our haul this morning:. 2 bunches of asparagus. 2 blueberries packs (6 oz each). 1 bunch of spinach. 1 bunch of red leaf lettuce. 2 heads of cabbage. Our total for today was $23. In electric mixer, mi:. 1/2 cup softened butter. 1 1/2 cups white sugar. 1 tspn. vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. 2 cups powdered sugar. 3 Tblspns. milk. 1 Tblspn. melted butter. 1 tspn. vanilla. Drizzle glaze over baked cookies. Thanks girls! 1 pound bulk Italian sausage. 1 garlic clove, minced. 1 jar (26 ounces) Hunt’s Spaghetti Sauce Traditional. 1 package (16 ounces) uncooked penne pasta. 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened. 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream. 4 green onions, sliced. 2 cups (16 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese. With half the cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. 6 thick pork chops (about 3 lbs). 188; cup brown sugar. 1 teaspoon ground ginger. 189; cup soy sauce. 188; cup ketchup. 1 clove crushed garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Trim excess fat from pork chops and place in slow cooker. Mix brown sugar, ginger, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic and pepper in a small bowl and pour over meat. Move meat around to coat with the sauce. Cover crock pot, cook on low for 4-6 hours or until tender. Serve over rice. From the kitchen of Britten Bitner.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. 4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts halves. 1 can cream of celery soup or cream of mushroom soup. 1 package seasoned stuffing mix with seasoning packet. 1 ½ cups water. Salt and pepper to taste. Place chicken in crockpot. Combine soup of choice and milk, pour over chicken. Combine stuffing, seasoning packet, salt and pepper, and water. Mix well.
