Mary with Garden: Page Two: Old windows
http://marywithgarden.blogspot.com/2010/07/page-two-old-windows.html
Growth. Grace. Gratitude. Friday, July 9, 2010. Page Two: Old windows. The biggest problem with m and ms are that they. So, I have decided to do what would have been done to the woodwork years ago when it was new. I purchased some floor wax in a dark stain to match the woodwork and I am coating the old wood with it. Here is the product that I found at my local hardware store. The left side is without wax and the right side is with. July 9, 2010 at 4:12 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Mary with Garden: Crayon Box
http://marywithgarden.blogspot.com/2009/10/crayon-box.html
Growth. Grace. Gratitude. Friday, October 23, 2009. Can't you smell the waxy, paper fragrance of a newly opened box of crayons? If you close your eyes and think back to your school days and opening that box of 48 crayons for the first time.mmm. The possibilities! Other smells bring back that freshness of new things starting, the smell of wet leaves in the fall and wood smoke, shoe polish, starched cotton being ironed, pencils being sharpened. And the allure of coloring pages. Community Ecology Field Trip.
Mary with Garden: Books I've Devoured
http://marywithgarden.blogspot.com/p/books-ive-devoured.html
Growth. Grace. Gratitude. I love to read! What I've read recently is. Octavia E. Butler Kindred. I read this book immediately following my viewing of 12 Years A Slave. I don't usually read fantasy fiction or science fiction and was prepared not to like this because the author writes in that genre. Surprise! I loved this story, the device of time travel to tell it, and the contemporary flavor of the telling. There is much to process in Dana, the main character, and her experience. This book had a special ...
Mary with Garden: Happy Birthday! We are all as old as dirt!
http://marywithgarden.blogspot.com/2011/02/happy-birthday-we-are-all-as-old-as.html
Growth. Grace. Gratitude. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. We are all as old as dirt! Let me just extend birthday wishes to everyone because today, and everyday, we are all as old as dirt! Bet you thought that was just an expression that came out of some novel written by one of the Southern writers, like Tennessee Williams. Everything that we are physically has been recycled since the beginning of life on the Earth. We share more in common with one another and the environment than we don't. Whatever acti...

Sol and Rachel do a Blog: July 2015
http://www.solandrachel.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31. My kids have all been early teethers- and it seems like they are a bit ahead of the curve on losing teeth too! Especially Keaton. who lost his first two teeth at the ripe age of ONE. Finley lost his bottom two teeth awhile ago- the first one was lost while eating a hamburger. He never even noticed- Sol just saw there was a gap! So that tooth is somewhere in the Beaumont sewer system currently. This one's about Finley. Thursday, July 30. Trail West Family Camp. In early July, we went with...
Sol and Rachel do a Blog: Breakfast at Willy Burger
http://www.solandrachel.com/2015/07/breakfast-at-willy-burger.html
Thursday, July 16. Breakfast at Willy Burger. I mentioned int he previous post about eating in Austin- that after spending two weekends eating fun food in Austin, Sol forgot we lived in Beaumont and wanted to go get fun, hip stuff for breakfast. Willy Burger was about as good as we could do. We've been to Willy Burger a few times for lunch and dinner and we really enjoy it- they have great burgers and fries and a cute atmosphere. We barely made in time for breakfast- and I'm so glad we did! Life in the C...
Sol and Rachel do a Blog: Swimming in the Summer
http://www.solandrachel.com/2015/07/swimming-in-summer.html
Tuesday, July 14. Swimming in the Summer. Beaumont is hot. It's so hot, friends. And for some reason, there aren't many public pools. Actually I don't think there are any. Luckily, we have a few friends with pools that share their cool water with us. These pictures are rare gems- because I'm in them! Also because I'm super pregnant. Jenn came to visit and grabbed my camera and snapped some of me with the boys and I'm so grateful. We put Keaton in swimming lessons this year (see video below! Keaton just c...
Sol and Rachel do a Blog: Braden and Keaton's Last Day of Preschool
http://www.solandrachel.com/2015/06/braden-and-keatons-last-day-of-preschool.html
Thursday, June 18. Braden and Keaton's Last Day of Preschool. Technically. Braden and Keaton finished school a few weeks before we took these pictures. But my sister was in town on Finley's last day, so I slapped some matching outfits on them and recruited her to make goofy faces behind me to get them to pay attention. If you look carefully you can see Keaton's cute little gap teeth! Braden grew so much this year! Hover for picture change! He's also a decent smiler. We're very proud of that too. We have ...

If You're Going to Stalk Me, You Might as Well Know Me. Let's make this simple. My name is Rachel. I'm a former middle school math teacher and current mama and designer of cute things. My babies are Finley. Born in April 2009. Braden, born in April 2011, Keaton, born in July 2013 and Merritt, born in September 2015. I think they are the sweetest. Sol and Rachel do a Blog: May 2015
http://www.solandrachel.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 12. So we went to the "beach" with some new, lovely Beaumont friends. Before the trip, whenever I told anyone what we were doing, I made sure to put quotes around beach- my expectations for the Texas Gulf were low. But good news! There were very few waves and no tide which made it very safe for the kids. Yes, it was kind of murky and the visibility was like 3 inches. but that's fine. I didn't bring any scuba equipment anyways. It looks like I only got in the one group picture? Whoops. We...

Mary with a y
Mary with a y. Sunday, May 6, 2012. Spring in the Bluegrass. A few weeks ago I had a few moments to myself and went to the UK Arboretum and snagged a few shots of some favorite flowers. Here are the best ones :). Saturday, February 18, 2012. Back in the fall I noticed in the church bulletin a note for a knitting club. "Sweet! This is Ivy, she was spared any shearing trauma today since she's a goat :). A before and after. On the left is Elizabeth, on the right is Etta. A significantly smaller Elizabeth.
Mary with Garden
Growth. Grace. Gratitude. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. I picked for you today a rose. The rose, the queen of the garden. My neighbor loves her roses. She nurtures them each year, and snips the spent blossoms, one by one from her beautiful bush in order for there to be another glorious, full, blooming. Links to this post. Mary Within Us: A Jungian Contemplation of Her Titles and Powers
Of Her Titles and Powers. By David Richo, PhD. David Richo, PhD. Fairfax, Ca 94978, USA. In Mary Within Us. David Richo demonstrates how we have always venerated not the literal Mary but the feminine dimension of the divine that she represents and enriches. Using the titles in the Litany of Loreto with depth and reverence, this book opens a dialogue about Mary as a personification of the virtues and destiny of the human psyche, including the so far unexplored dark side. David Richo, Ph.D.
