My current exhibition on the Khayammiyya Tentmakers in the old quartier of Islamic Cairo. With a downloadable catalogue here. The Hawza is an educational institution for those Shi’i Muslim believers who wish to improve their knowledge of religious sciences. Beside religious mastery, students are trained to take up religious leadership for the community. This is my PhD case study, also part of a consultancy for a British Academy project; the editing refers to the exhibition travelling the UK in 2012.

The Tentmakers Of Islamic Cairo. On April 15th, 2015 I opened my latest exhibition on the tentmakers of. The handcraft district of old Cairo.
