Art from Chaos: April 2015
http://art-from-chaos.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 23, 2015. This week was all about getting out and celebrating Earth Day. Kindergarten watched a telling of the Lorax and created their own collage with the Truffula Trees (always a good theme). 1st grade discussed migration and the return of birds with their bird mobiles. We practiced drawing a bird on paper then traced it onto transparency film. To make the Earth better: Be nice to butterflies. To make the Earth better: Plant Flowers. Sunday, April 19, 2015. Art from Chaos: June 2015
http://art-from-chaos.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. I finally completed a project that has been in the works for a while. I have planned out all of my lessons for the coming school year based on the year-long unit "Art History". I made two lesson grids to keep organized this year; one with descriptions and one with pictures. You don't know how many times I write some obscure description and not remember what that was supposed to look like at all. For now, you can use my PDF versions of these on my Google Drive. Enjoy! Look forward t...

Art from Chaos: Camp STEM Paper Bowls: Paper Making
http://art-from-chaos.blogspot.com/2015/06/camp-stem-paper-bowls-paper-making.html
Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Camp STEM Paper Bowls: Paper Making. I had never taught a paper making lesson before. I learned how in college and in workshops, but it's always been a bit too daunting to take on with a class. But I was brave and went for it this time. It went really well! After we learned the techniques, we had an assembly line and I manned the blender. Everyone was engaged and it went smoothly! We laid our round sheets on foam bowls to set their shape. Post and you can find the. 3rd grade, colla...

Art from Chaos: July 2015
http://art-from-chaos.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Paper Making for $3.25. I made this set up for my Recycled Bowl art lesson at Camp STEM. The frame is an embroidery hoop with a sheet of felt as a filter. Each set also has two plastic circles with holes. I have no idea what these are called, but I found them next to the embroidery hoops for super cheap and they are perfect for shaping and removing paper. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Friday, April 15, 2011. We had a lot of positive reactions to the Italian language lesson. Post earlier this week. As we're pressed for time today for a longer post, take a look at the BBC's French language page. Too It's very much. Worth checking out all the links. If you have slower internet, you can read transcripts rather than watch videos; you can also access these from outside the UK, so no excuses! Dreamy Paris photograph by Jen Gotch. Giulia Geranium: Valentine Prep
http://giuliageranium.blogspot.com/2012/01/valentine-prep.html
Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Remember last late January? Or the year before that? Surely, sometime in the last few years, you've thought: I would love to make valentines (or a present) for . Or many . If you have children or work with them, that goes without saying. You probably have it written down already: start the Valentine's Day crafts. Thenoops. It's February 12th (or worse). Well, we here at GG Central. Seems to rely too much on Martha Stewart. But why start elsewhere? The site has links by holiday.
