Math Geeks Anonymous

Sunday, September 9, 2012. Service With a Smile. I’m a slacker. But what else is new? The fact that my last post was almost ten months ago…I’m sad to report not much has changed. I’m still a bank teller without my math degree (though I hope to change that in the coming weeks), in debt and loving my lack of a social life. Wait, what? But maybe I was already leaning towards the hermit-ite lifestyle. Who really enjoys socializing with a self-proclaimed math geek? Me: Can I do anything else for you today?

Math Geeks Anonymous: August 2009

http://mathgeeksanonymous.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 7, 2009. I must be out of my mind. It is past midnight, the night before (or the morning of) the day I leave for vacation (yay! Donald E. Knuth. Donald Knuth was born January 10,1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Early on, Knuth realized that most of the schoolwork required of him from middle school to college consisted mostly of writing and mathematics. (. Ain’t that the truth. I wish I had that kind of time. I like this next part. Knuth had a fascination with compilers and compiler theory&#46...

Math Geeks Anonymous: January 2010

http://mathgeeksanonymous.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 23, 2010. For the Love of Math. I'm acute, you're acute, maybe together we can make it right.". But aside from that.third week of the latest semester is completed. Second semester of Abstract Algebra (what in the WORLD am I thinking? Numerical analysis (I'm going to learn how my calculator works.and become smarter than it), and probability and statistics (calc and stats combined.I think my brain imploded just typing that). And yet I still love math. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Math Geeks Anonymous: March 2010

http://mathgeeksanonymous.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Well, if we say that is true, and I'm a mathematician, then I must be an insomniac. But then that means that I just IMAGINE that I konk out within minutes of my head hitting the pillow. So then does that mean I'm not a mathematician? Or does it mean mathematicians have potential to become insomniacs? GrrrI always hated these kind of logic questions. There's no POINT to them. Okay, that looks kinda weird in all caps. http:/ www.wolframalpha.com/. That's better. Go ahead....I've ...

Math Geeks Anonymous: Ironic Confessions

http://mathgeeksanonymous.blogspot.com/2011/11/ironic-confessions.html

Sunday, November 13, 2011. Along with that step towards adulthood, I also received my first credit card. Awesome. Another tool to aid in the downward spiral known as debt. So far, I’m fighting against temptation. However, my first trial in resisting came about a few days ago when I had an epiphany. I have some extra cash to burn. Wait for it…. Wait for it…. I can’t just spend my (new) hard-earned money on a spur-of-the-moment decision! Okay, so I can’t splurge. Next best option? Those "saved funds". ...
