Science and religion | Math Metaphysics Man
https://mathmetaphysicsman.wordpress.com/2011/05/07/science-and-religion
Commentary on life with a humorous analytical bent. When you see religious fundamentalists on television, in the United States or around the world, they appear to have at least one thing in common a distrust of science. I’ve never quite understood this distrust. Why don’t I understand the perceived conflict between science and religion? And our place in the universe. However, unlike different religions, science and religion have complementary rather than colliding goals. The goals of religion. How scienc...
A retrospective anniversary | Math Metaphysics Man

Commentary on life with a humorous analytical bent. I started Math Metaphysics Man a year ago a good time to reflect on the blog. It has a nice rhythm a new topic each month, a new segment each week. It takes an inclusive view of God. While still covering central religious and spiritual subjects. It applies mathematical concepts and analytical thinking to a wide range of topics that aren’t usually viewed in that light. It has a relaxed style with occasional humor, though not nearly as much as I intended.
It starts with you | Math Metaphysics Man

Commentary on life with a humorous analytical bent. It starts with you. Having your prayers answered starts with you. You may not control the world around you, but you do control your approach and response. Being unafraid to pursue what you desire, believing life will work out in the end, and accepting whatever comes from it is an age-old formula for success and happiness. It’s easy to be cynical about prayer, but cynics are missing the point. Even with free will, most aspects of life aren’t in your ...

Commentary on life with a humorous analytical bent. The world we live in is constantly changing. While we have a name for the world itself Earth, the universe, creation we need a name for how the world acts. Some people use a personification, like Mother Nature, but the more common term is God. The goals of religion | Math Metaphysics Man

Commentary on life with a humorous analytical bent. The goals of religion. Clearly, I cannot hope to do justice to the goals of religion. Goals vary by religion (at times conflicting) and vary by interpretation even within the same religion. However, there are some general themes in religion’s goals:. And be with God. To understand and realize your purpose. To know right from wrong and behave in a way that brings you closer to God. Tags: Science and religion. The goals of science →. May 14, 2011. Sorry, ...

The spiritual journal of a mathematically-minded Methodist minister (male). Friday, 19 January 2018. In 2009 I began to read the Bible alphabetically (see here. For my rationale), reading each book at least three times and trying to get into the mind of the original author and readers as well as listen to God’s message for today. Here’s what I’ve discovered from reading Genesis. Genesis starts with two creation stories. The first is on cosmic scale and universal; the second is more local and homely w...
