Saturday, July 4, 2015. Uganda team 19 Day 7. We have officially been in Uganda for 1 week! Meanwhile the rest of us raked and hoe’d the remainder of the grass and rocks, wheel-barrowed it off to a large pit out the back, and started laying down bricks for a wall around the side of the parking lot. All in all, it was a fairly productive day. After dinner (which was a vegetarian frittata – thanks Juliet! Pics below as usual! Look at us - butt exercise no 1. How good are we? This is how you stretch ladies!

Thursday, July 9, 2015. Uganda team 19 Day 12. The scene this morning was Suubi house covered in balloons to celebrate Charles’ birthday. Today’s forecast was a sunny 30 degrees. For breakfast, there was a lovely surprise of a platter of rolex’s and chappatti’s! AmyS lead us into our daily morning devotion, where we were given the opportunity to write something encouraging for each team member. Happy Birthday to Charles! Some of the paint got o the wood too! I'm trying to assimilate! Uganda team 19 Day 15.

Monday, June 29, 2015. Uganda team 19 Day 2. Today was the first Sunday of our trip. We didn’t have our regular rolexes for breakfast because the girls have Sundays off work, which means we had to make our own breakfast, but we had cereal and toast so it wasn’t too hard to make. Dinner at All Friends! Breakf...

Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Uganda team 19 Day 18 and beyond. Day 18 and beyond! Day 18 was an early wake up…. 330am With our bags all packed the night before we were ready for the journey back to Entebbe airport bound for Nairobi. The time needed to be there on time for our flight was ‘flexible’ (as time is in Africa) depending on what the early morning rush in Kampala looked like. As it happened, we made it to the airport in record time, 2hr 45mins! On our arrival in Nairobi we flew. After a supper where...

http://hb-villageofhope.blogspot.com/2015/07/uganda-team-19-day-9.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. Uganda team 19 Day 9. We have now been in Uganda for over 216 hours! Or as Richard would say, “You’re joooooooking.”). Although we may be feeling (and looking – thanks to the Ugandan sun) a little bit more like locals with each passing day, the firsts are still coming in thick and fast. Today is no exception! But it was only after the service today’s adventures really began. We were off to find the source of the Nile! On the Nile river . Running the souvenir gauntlet! Uganda team 19...

For the past three weeks I have been doing a cake decorating course at a local cake shop. I have been loving it and doing it with my friend Janet is great. She is amazing at making the flowers! Week one we made the buds that went in the centre of the pink flowers and they were the easy bit. Hehehe, its not quite that easy. 2 Responses to “Pretty Cakes…here I come! May 19, 2011 at 4:40 am. Fun in the Kitchen. Sharing my fun with you. My dear friend is having a baby! April 8, 2011. 8212; anitalea @ 8:58 pm. I made these flowers during the week. They are pinker in real life. I made one of these cakes during the week, realised it was too short and had so many things on this week I only made the second cake when I got home from work tonight. This is the cake after it had been covered in ganache. I also made this during the week and microwaved it. I will try and remember to post pics later.

Uganda - Village of Hope: Uganda team 19 Day 16 & 17
http://hb-villageofhope.blogspot.com/2015/07/uganda-team-19-day-16-17.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Uganda team 19 Day 16 and 17. Day 16 and 17. Was for the most part fairly uneventful! We went to Abundant Life church, joined in with the singing and dancing. The men were leading the worship so us guys had to get up and dance up front with the worship leaders. Well, all except Richard who piked on us! We then had an ‘awesome’ sermon by Pastor Andrew which was quite un-African in length, but Pastor George made up for it by his ‘small summary’ at the end. We were determined to win ...
