Befuddled but Happy

We headed out to Mammoth a couple of weekends ago in hopes of catching a glimpse of snow…. We definitely weren't lacking for precipitation. There was snow. There was rain. There was hail. There was slush. Made for a terrible trip going there…all ten hours of it. But once we were there, the smiles and delights of our kids wiped away many of the troubles…. Chipmunk rolled his first ever snowball, which soon became a snow man. But really, after all the poor weather the scenery was just breathtaking. I event...

Befuddled but Happy: Summer? What summer?

http://www.mattandcarina.blogspot.com/2014/08/summer-what-summer.html

My last post was about Chipmunk's kindergarten graduation. Today I'm posting about the first day of school. I laugh to myself at the lack of posting all summer long. Let's just imagine that we had this wild summer with all kinds of crazy antics and chock full of activities that there just was not even a moment to put up a new post…. Not the case…but we can still imagine, right? This is what I get for first day of school pictures:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Too Tired to Text.

Befuddled but Happy: Depth of Impact

http://www.mattandcarina.blogspot.com/2015/01/depth-of-impact.html

Introvert. That's what I am. I have a hard time with crowds, with new places, with being outgoing, striking up conversations, unless I get my adequate "alone" time where I can recharge my batteries on my own…. When we moved here three years ago, it was a struggle everyday trying to figure out how to get my introverted self to find a sense of belonging, to get to know new people and let them get to know me. It was easier for me to stay home and hideout. But it can be said that when a person has such a dee...

Befuddled but Happy: February 2014

Conversation between Chipmunk and his uncle, my younger brother. Pointing to a Lego shaped like a fish…. Oh, it's a fish," responded Chipmunk. What kind of fish is it? Dolphin friendly tuna," Chipmunk said without a pause. Yup That's my son, saving the whales, one Lego at a time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Too Tired to Text. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

Me: Um, okay. I'll try. Chipmunk: And that one, too! Me: (Sighs) Honey, we're here to watch soccer, NOT the dragonflies. Chipmunk: Okay, okay. Yup, it's that time of year again. 8230;a little bit of watching dragonflies, and a little bit of watching soccer. Labels: Fun and Games. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Too Tired to Text. Monday, February 22, 2010. Please with a big smile:. And a picture with almost the whole Overman side - except Wei Yan wasn't in the picture. SoCal meets Texas meets PacNW: What happens when your dog tries to tell you something

http://chantoniello.blogspot.com/2012/12/what-happens-when-your-dog-tries-to.html

SoCal meets Texas meets PacNW. Saturday, December 22, 2012. What happens when your dog tries to tell you something. Wanted to finish up the story about our dog. After we arrived at our corporate housing in Seattle, Portland pretty much slept the entire day. I think he was just exhausted. We landed on a Friday. We made an emergency run to PetSmart and got the following items:. A new crate (the one we were hoping to use from the airplane was too small for him, and his real one was with the movers). We stuc...

SoCal meets Texas meets PacNW: What I haven't been posting..

http://chantoniello.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-i-havent-been-posting.html

SoCal meets Texas meets PacNW. Friday, September 18, 2009. What I haven't been posting. I know my few faithful loyal readers have noticed a certain piece of information missing on this blog. A little over two months before I went to Brazil, one of my trip leaders wanted to get the troops rallied and he said something like "You're in marketing.can you come up with a rally cry or even a t-shirt logo to get our team unified? Oh, and we never did get to those t-shirts! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

tdlau: May 2007

http://tdlau.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 27, 2007. Today there was a Hare Krishna festival on the next street over. We heard loud singing and we think there was even a parade. I couldn't help but think how crazy and wierd they were. But then Dan and I were thinking about how weird Christianity can be. So, how do we show our light to the world without seeming weird or crazy? Is it ok to be perceived as weird and crazy for God? What makes out efforts different from those of the Hare Krishnas, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, etc? Send yo...

tdlau: March 2007

http://tdlau.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 29, 2007. For once, Dan is actually excited about watching figure skating! We are going to watch the performance of Chazz Michael Michael this weekend. Posted by tdlau at 9:13 PM. Friday, March 23, 2007. A few weeks ago, I went up to Berkeley for an eating trip. Dan had to work, so I went by myself. It was a beautiful drive up. A little rainy, but I saw God's greatness as the sun shined through the rain clouds. On toast with a poached egg and a ham and Gruyere. Like and eggs Benedict.

SoCal meets Texas meets PacNW: The Lord Provides..Far More

http://chantoniello.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-lord-providesfar-more.html

SoCal meets Texas meets PacNW. Monday, May 27, 2013. The Lord Provides.Far More. Just wanted to finish up posting about D's job. As I mentioned earlier, D's contract ended in February with his Dallas agency. Going into this, we were prepared for this journey to take as long as six months. We were prepared to take a pay cut, step down, etc if we needed to. She thought he'd be a great fit for an opportunity she was working on. The job description came through and it was as if it had been written with D...

Wednesday, July 18, 2012. I have been such a slacker on this blog. It's sad really. I used this as sort of a family journal for such a long time, and I just missed a huge chunk of time! I'm not going to go back and try to re-create the last year, but just move forward. We have had a great last year though! A lot of change! OkayI will get off my soap box now. Alli has just turned 12 and went into young womens! They are all growing up so fast! Taylor caught his first fish on our camping trip last week....

Saturday, October 20, 2012. Parker 3 1/2 years old, Pierce 18 month update. Parker is learning so much these days and growing up to be such a sweet, smart little boy. He says to me all the time "Mommy your beautiful, Mommy you will always be in my heart". I could just eat him up! He says "Lasterday" for yesterday, which if you think about it it makes total sense! Talking about his testicles). I tried not to laugh outloud and called for their Daddy! Parker still sleeps with 3 of his favorite blankies and ...

Sunday, June 7, 2015. Our sweet, little man turned one! We took a risk on the fickle northwest weather and reserved a picnic shelter at a local park. Matt smoked a pork shoulder and we invited friends and family out for pulled pork sandwiches and sweet tea. It was a bit cloudy, but still warm enough for lawn games! I left my phone at home the day of the party, but luckily I have a few photos from my Canon to share. It really does take a village.and we have a pretty great one. Sunday, December 28, 2014.

Saturday, May 25, 2013. Mount Baker Easton Glacier Spring Ascent (Attempt #2 of 3). Well Last year we tried to climb Mount Baker. For a lot of reasons, it did not go well. It barely went at all, really. This year we tried to learn from all those lessons:. Ascend in the spring, so less snow issues, crevasses are still full, and tons of daylight. Make sure the access road is drivable before you leave the house. Allow a lot of extra time so that you can adapt to weather and other unforseen issues. First (un...
