Microsoft Kodu on the BBC | mattgummylappin
https://mattgummylappin.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/microsoft-kodu-on-the-bbc
Just another WordPress.com site. Microsoft Kodu on the BBC. March 24, 2012. My school and I have recently had the opportunity to demonstrate Kodu with a group of infant school children through Microsoft on the BBC. Having received a message from Stuart Ball (@innovativeteach) at Microsoft Partners in Learning, we opened up our school to the cameras in order to showcase the successful use of Kodu in an infant setting, something which many people believe is ‘unsuitable’ for children of infant school age.

Just another WordPress.com site. Xbox Kinect Adventures Fizzbooks = Numeracy morning. February 14, 2012. As half term is well underway, I thought I’d share my recent Year 2 Numeracy morning that used the Xbox Kinect Adventures, alongside our recent addition of 32 Fizzbooks into the schoolwith fantastic results! Every Thursday morning I use the Xbox Kinect to aid my Numeracy lessons and I have developed a range of topic resources and relevant plans for this technology. How long is each round? How does the...

Animals topic – Endangered animals. Having...

Just another WordPress.com site. First idea….cha-ching! August 27, 2011. I think I’ve stumbled upon my first idea that I could. Pursue for my Microsoft Partners In Learning project! After browsing twitter (a daily habit now), I stumbled across a post by @Lanky Boi Ray (Raymond Chambers) who had posted a link to a Game Based Learning presentation by Ollie Bray. After watching Ollie’s presentation, I started thinking about a game that he’d mentioned for Xbox Kinect… Kinectimals. Kinectimals Now With Bears.

Just another WordPress.com site. June 26, 2012. So after a prolonged gap from my last Kodu adventure with the BBC, I decided to take Kodu in the curriculum extensively into the classroom to see if I can develop my knowledge and fledgling ideas. I decided to write a piece of documentation for all. Once I had successfully trialled Kodu in Maths, English, Science, Geography and History, I then had the issue of collating my lessons into easily read, followed and executed lessons. All feedback is greatly rece...

In recent weeks, amongst my circle of family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances, coaching has become a popular topic. Let’s start with a few questions. Have you ever had a coach? Last spring, a seasonal intern who had a knack for matching my snark, gave me a copy of a book titled Talk to Your Plants. Come on, little squash. Some people talk to their plants. Some people, even researchers, will claim that it has an effect. I do not speak to plants, but I feel that there is a communion, something I have only ever so slightly ex...
