Queuing It Up

Friday, November 21, 2008. Katie calculated that we only have 18 days before we go home. that's crazy! Part of me is desperately longing for home while other parts of me will desperately miss it here. I've found that I am a melting pot of emotions during exam time. I hate exams with a passion. I thought CH was bad, but I have two exams here that account for 50% of my grade. gahhh! Alright, this is all I got right now. My brain is killing me and I have to get back to finance lecture number 9, Bond Val...

Queuing It Up: September 2008

http://www.mattmlot.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 9, 2008. It seems everyone is panicking to get out and see everything. I've found it really nice here to do what I want. Nobody is grading me on my study abroad experience except for me. I guess I can give myself an "A " for whatever I get to do, see, and experience. I've enjoyed spending one or two of my weekends at home, studying, reading, watching TV, you know? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Queuing It Up: October 2008

http://www.mattmlot.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 31, 2008. A Multitude of Masses. Well, that's about it. I think that I'm going to do something fun this weekend. I'm ready to end this perfunctory streak of routine. I'm sure it will involve people, but at least it won't be studying or going to school. And maybe next week if I search hard enough I can find a place to have a retreat of silence. maybe. Queuing It Up: Mind the Gap

http://www.mattmlot.blogspot.com/2008/08/mind-gap.html

Wednesday, August 13, 2008. It's now been two weeks since I've been in the "little red dot." But apparently the Singaporean armed forces has changed it to the "lethal red dot." Well that's what is says on the back of our student planners anyway. I'll probably write more about this soon, but classes started this week. I also joined the swim team and am checking out campus crusade tomorrow. Thanks for bearing with the longer post. I'll try to write them more often to keep them shorter.

Queuing It Up: August 2008

http://www.mattmlot.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 31, 2008. So I lied about writing shorter blogs and more often. I guess time kind of flies. It's now been about two weeks since I moved into my new place in Buona. Vista Since I've moved, my commute to school has been cut in half. Which is really nice, but it's still about half an hour out my door to the central library. Which to put things in perspective is the amount of time it takes me to drive from my home in Raleigh to campus in Chapel Hill. Yet, my place in Buona. It's now been two w...

Tuesday, February 23, 2010. A Brief Note on My Resolve. Oh, shut up. Saturday, February 6, 2010. Though i can tell you now that i've seen all the best picture and director nominees, and i think Kathryn Bigelow was the best director and Inglourious Basterds was the best picture. and i'm not likely to change my mind. reasoning for both of those opinions will follow in the coming weeks. http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 27, 2010. Holding out for a hero. A couple days ago i watched Marty. The 1955 Best Picture winner. In case you haven't noticed, a careful blend of Turner Classic Movies and DVR have been really helping this blog out this summer. Sunday, May 23, 2010. We have no way of knowing where the heart is. See, every human is different. Okay, i have FOUR more! But i'm going to keep it brief. seventeenth slate: Some people say, "Our God is too big for our body," and then I say, "Compared to what?"

http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2010/11/some-people-say-our-god-is-too-big-for.html

Thursday, November 4, 2010. Some people say, "Our God is too big for our body," and then I say, "Compared to what? One week ago, i was in the middle of worship at InterVarsity, enjoying myself, praising like i do. And then we sang a song that made me sit down and totally lose my vibe. For those of you who haven't heard it, the chorus and bridge read:. Our God, Our God. Our God is greater, our God is stronger. God You are higher than any other. Our God is Healer, awesome in power. Our God, Our God. Let's ...

seventeenth slate: Celebrating Rock'n'Roll Legend Lady Gaga

http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2011/01/celebrating-rocknroll-legend-lady-gaga.html

Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Celebrating Rock'n'Roll Legend Lady Gaga. So a friend of mine recently sent me a Huffington Post article about the recent Passion conference, Chris Tomlin, and Christian rock in general. It was basically saying that Christian rock is finding a niche, citing Tomlin's two albums on Billboard's top 20 last month. It was interesting enough, but it's not exactly news to those in a Christian community that David Crowder, Matt Redman, and Chris Tomlin are popular. There were a few w...

http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 22, 2010. Why, hello there! Let me just change sweaters real quick before we sit down and have a chat. But here's another thing that happened - the Creative Arts Emmys! Overall, pretty good stuff, good shows represented well. However, we need to talk about the guest actor/actress awards for a moment. Okay, go:. Best Guest Actor in a Drama - John Lithgow, for Dexter. This was a freaking awesome performance. You know what else? Capactiy. Not totally his fault maybe? And i'm sad she didn't win.

seventeenth slate: I just thought that ice tongs was the way to do it.

http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-just-thought-that-ice-tongs-was-way.html

Thursday, July 15, 2010. I just thought that ice tongs was the way to do it. Wow, i did not realize it had been more than a week since my last post. I haven't been on here because, although i've watched several movies in the past week or two, none of them have completely totally knocked me off my feet (the way, say, Titus. Did), so i was waiting for a collection. Also, i've spent some time watching some TV shows, in light of the Emmy nominations announcement. namely, catching up on Nurse Jackie. Focusing...

seventeenth slate: Wrapping up

http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2011/02/wrapping-up.html

Saturday, February 26, 2011. I'm gonna try an power through all the rest of the categories now. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pt. 1. Effects were kind of sloppy, i though, and Alice. Looked (unintentionally) cartoonish. Hereafter's. Nomination is confusing to most people, though it is the one film here i've not seen, so i can't speak well to it. Suffice it to say, it has basically no chance of winning. i personally would pick Harry Potter. The only film here i've seen is The Wolfman. Is a truly o...

seventeenth slate: First Round of Oscar Nominations

http://seventeenthslate.blogspot.com/2011/02/first-round-of-oscar-nominations.html

Friday, February 18, 2011. First Round of Oscar Nominations. So i'm gonna go through categories for which i've seen all of the nominated films, and work on finishing up some of the other movies so i can have discussions/predictions/preferences in all the major categories. So let's start out with a few categories i've seen all the way through, in no particular order. Now, i'm not 100% sure why The King's Speech. Has a nomination here, as that audio all seemed pretty straightforward. The Social Network.
