The Battle with Miniatures. And the winner is. Not more Uruk Hai. Originally uploaded by mafiu. Its strange that I thought this blog was dead. But the last couple of days, playing with my flickr pics. I noted that over the three years I have been using flickr, this was my most viewed picture. Why that is I don't know. Maybe its the composition? Posted by Matthew Norman # 10:50 am. Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Comments: Post a Comment. Lord of the Rings Battle Game. Site: Hithero's LOTR site.

Matt Norman: The Battle with Miniatures: Ooh! Shiny..
http://mafiu.blogspot.com/2006/03/ooh-shiny.html
The Battle with Miniatures. Well here is a strange cross over between my main 'blog' and my miniatures one. Heresy Miniatures has produced Captain Nathan. Who could be used in many SciFi RPG Gaming. I heard about this on The Signal, which is a Firefly and Serenity Podcast. I had to buy him, if only to encourage Heresy to make some more, similar themed models. How about a Jewel, and a Summer, and a preacher Ron? Posted by Matthew Norman # 12:35 pm. Saturday, March 11, 2006. Comments: Post a Comment.

Matt Norman: The Battle with Miniatures: November 2005
http://mafiu.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
The Battle with Miniatures. Posted by Matthew Norman # 6:50 am. Thursday, November 17, 2005. So here is a modern Citadel base. I know this is on a metal miniature - but I do it on these as well, so bare with me.). Ugly from below isn't it? And this is the secret weapon. It is a flexible filler, which is ready mixed in a tube. The nice thing about this is that you dont waste any, and it is less messy, and you can fill LOADS of bases with one tube. So worth the investment. You HAVE to wait. Leave it ov...

http://mafiu.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
The Battle with Miniatures. Crumbs its all go now! Did a bit of painting on my macragge set. First I did the above, which was drybrush the arms boltgun metal, line the shoulder pads in shining gold and paint the belt bags a neutral brown (snakebite I think) Next bit is the red eyes and other read highlights - but I cant find my blood red paint. Thats the gene stealer for you. Posted by Matthew Norman # 2:04 am. Wednesday, January 12, 2005. Posted by Matthew Norman # 4:23 am. Tuesday, January 11, 2005.

Matt Norman: The Battle with Miniatures
http://mafiu.blogspot.com/2008/01/21st-century-dwarf.html
The Battle with Miniatures. Originally uploaded by mafiu. So I finally got around to opening my White Dwarf 30th Anniversary model. As I suspected it comes in multiple castings - Four plus the base. So here is a posting! Just to show I've thought about this - however I wont be painting this model any time soon. If I do any miniatures painting it will have to be some of the dwarves that I got in my Skull Pass set. Posted by Matthew Norman # 6:09 pm. Sunday, January 06, 2008. Comments: Post a Comment.

Matt Norman: The Battle with Miniatures: June 2005
http://mafiu.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
The Battle with Miniatures. Some painted Macragge stuff. Well, with Roo having chicken pox I've been around the house more, so have taken up painting again for a while. My Macragge set is coming leaps and bounds. I've undercoated the whole of the crash pieces, and finished the main cockpit - which you can see in the picture, although I'm not overly happy with the sandy colour of the base (vermine brown with a brown ink wash). Matt Norman: The Battle with Miniatures: Annoyed??
http://mafiu.blogspot.com/2008/01/annoyed.html
The Battle with Miniatures. Originally uploaded by mafiu. Ok so it looks like I've not posted for months. You would be correct in that assumption. This is linked to the fact that I've not painted for month. The Real Life is more important at the moment. But the only thing I have done miniature related is taken this picture of my dwarf. I like his eyes. See You. (Jimmy). Posted by Matthew Norman # 8:34 pm. Wednesday, January 02, 2008. Comments: Post a Comment. Lord of the Rings Battle Game.

The Battle with Miniatures. Closeups - Light box. Originally uploaded by mafiu. Heres the light box, took two and a half sheets of A3 featherboard and a bit of masking tape. I really just used 5 A4 sheets thinking about it. I used a cheap halogen bedside lamp for the lighting, which I pointed to the top of the box. I'll get better results with two of these lamps, but this is just an experiment. Posted by Matthew Norman # 9:28 pm. Monday, February 27, 2006. Closeups - Light box. Closeups - Light box.

The Battle with Miniatures. Originally uploaded by mafiu. A while ago I heard a news item on The Signal. About a company called Heresy producing a ‘Captain Nathan’. Figure. I bought this immediately and it sits in my collection mounted and undercoated. Posted by Matthew Norman # 8:28 am. Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Haha he looks wicked, you're right, the pose is spot on!
