Tidsrummet fra ca. 1400-1700. Mattrup nævnes første gang i de skriftlige kilder i 1388, hvorfra ejerforløbet kendes. Væbner Christen Skram betænkes Mattrup i 1388. Hans søn, Niels Skram, overtager i 1453, efter at have skiftet med broderen Peter Skram til Urup og Voldbjerg nord for Ringkøbing. Hvor stort Mattrups tilliggende var på dette tidspunkt er uklart, ligesom der heller ikke findes overleveringer vedrørende bygningerne. I 1638 opgjordes den samlede værdi af hans ejendomme til 3.500 tdr. ha...Tyge ...

Mattrups skovtilliggende er fordelt på 5 skove. Mattrup, Donnerup, Tranholm, Ring og Rask. Jordbunden og topografien, der generelt præges af terræn med god vandbevægelse, gør, sammen med den relativt høje nedbør, Mattrups lokalitet velegnet til skovdyrkning. Den årlige tilvækst er ca. 8.000-10.000 M3. Ridning er ikke tilladt i skovene med undtagelse af Rask Skov, hvortil det er muligt at erhverve et ridekort. Nordmannsgranen er blevet et populært juletræ, dels pga. sin kønne mørkegrøne farve, men måske i højere grad på grund af sin nålefasthed. Thursday, December 11, 2014. 2014 in Review and 2015 Thoughts. In March I did the GTR Northern Kettle 50K again. This is always a fun event and a great way to start the season. It's also really great to see my fellow Greenbush Trail Runners. Finished in 6:24. In June I did the Kettle 100K. This was rough and I talked about it already but it was overall a good experience and prepped me for finishing a 100K a couple months later. DNF'd at mile 55 after 14:58.
